Pats tendered him and would cost us our second round pick and 3.7m salary. He’s 25.

He has appeared in 45 and started 22. In that time he has 17 ints and 100 tackles.

I never heard of this guy. Any thoughts?

Makes me wonder why they don’t just sign him?

because they don't have to spend big money on him this year. they can wait, sign him to an extension during the season or tag him next year if he goes full stud when the cap likely explodes.

So we could offer him 6m ( example) and the Pats would have to match the offer or let him walk.
Do you know anything about this guy?

my Pats fans friends like him a lot and they're not dummies. Love his upside more than Gilmore at this point because of cost and age.
I actually think there is a better chance that Gilmore ends up here than Jackson. Keim is in a make or break year. He might as well ship off a second rounder next year to fix the biggest weakness this year.

I would absolutely rather give up the second rounder for JC.

So do you think it would be crazy to claim him and offer him a 3 year 20m ( or more) deal? Or do you think we’d be better off drafting the best cb remaining at 16?
Unfortunately I’m really not familiar with him, so I can’t speak to his ability. If the pats like him that says something.

as for the draft pick, I hate trading first round picks, particularly top half of first round picks, for anything other than a stud. I struggle with that philosophy when I know it’s keim making the selection.

He’s a stud, I’m tempted to make an offer here as corner is our biggest weakness.

Honestly what can we get trading our first rd pick? If we can trade back and get a 2nd rd pick and some more picks I would trade back. Use a 2nd rd pick to get Jackson and the other 2nd rd pick we get from our trade to pick up a RB.. Travis Etienne if he is there.. fills our need at CB and RB.
