J.J. Arrington-RB- Broncos Feb. 28 - 10:59 pm et

The Broncos' four-year contract agreement with J.J. Arrington is reportedly in danger of falling apart.

"J.J's back in Arizona," his agent said, although he added that "the deal's not dead yet." There are reportedly issues with the contract's language. Denver is also entertaining free agent Derrick Ward, who has much more ability than Arrington. However, Ward allegedly wants "Michael Turner money."

Wasn't Arrington already introduced as a Bronco player? Would they really be dumb enough to introduce him before he signed his contract?

I'm guessing the Cardinals planned on letting JJ go or they would have made a noticeable effort to sign him prior to free agency. Still, this is interesting. Isn't free agency fun? I wonder what the offered salary for JJ was.

The article says he agreed in principle...maybe we should bash the Bronco's GM for being amateurish.

Its a four year contract. I wonder what the specs were.

And I'll kill the momentum before it comes: we are not bringing him back

I really have to trust the coaches on this one. They know JJ, if he were available at a reasonable price and they wanted him, I think we'ld have him. I think we are letting him go by design. He always did seem to make the first defender hit.

They must not have planned on keeping anyone who was a UFA this year then. Rod needs to pull his head out and stop worrying so much about Warner. Holes are either opening or getting bigger while he wastes time.

We should sign him to a 7 year 58 million dollar deal so Graves can say that he is doing something.

That reminds me of a certain coach who was introduced a tad prematurely. :D

Reports are out that when JJ saw an "avoiding contact clause" in the contract is when the deal started to fall apart. The signing of hard hitting safety Brian Dawkins may be a deal breaker from Arrington's side.

That's funny.
Don't get me wrong, I liked JJ-he was a Cardinal, but he could never be accused of avoiding contact. He seemed to have a knack for running into any defender with-in five yards of him.

Hence the nickname I gave him.

JJ "tiptoe" Arrington.

He did improve this year so maybe the light has come on. I still think that the hit by Roy Williams is still in his head and he has never recovered.

I was wondering the same thing. For some reason I was unable to find this thread yesterday.

I agree there was improvement, but it was a contract year for him. Even so, I'd take him back as his best years are yet to come.

I agree with the hit he took from Roy in the preseason game with the boys. I do think that drew him into his shell.
