Former Arizona Cardinals defensive lineman J.J. Watt is moving up in the TV broadcast world. He will be a game analyst for CBS this coming season.
Watt, following his retirement after the 2022 season, Watt began working for CBS as a studio analyst for "The NFL Today." CBS announced that Watt will join the broadcast booth and be a game analyst with play-by-play commentator Ian Eagle, the network's No. 2 game broadcast team.
He replaces Charles Davis, who will become the new lead college football analyst for the network in a year, following the announcement of Gary Danielson that he will retire after the 2025 college football season.
Davis has been an analyst for CBS since 2020, mostly working with Eagle. He will continue to work NFL games as an analyst in 2025 but Watt will be Eagle's broadcast partner this coming season.
Watt played 12 NFL seasons, the final two of which were with the Cardinals. In his final season in 2022, he had a team-leading 12.5 sacks, giving him 114.5 for his career.
