Sucks for you, probably watching Jake in the playoffs AGAIN, while the Cards trade down in order to take 2 3rd rd players late in the 1st rd AGAIN. Its obvious that Suggs would not help this team if it meant we would not have Pace & Johnson.

Not following, so you're sayign Denver makes the playoffs because of Jake?

Early in this game Kircus dropped a ball right in his hands causing them to punt. As they ran off the field Jake grabbed his shoulder pad, took off his own helmet and started screaming in his face "you have to catch the ball." At the time I thought hey he's trying to be a leader, not that big of a deal.

After his 4th pick the Raider radio announcer said "you know I bet David Kircus is just chomping at the bit to go grab Plummer by the shoulder and scream at him to stop throwing the ball to the other team." But luckily, they ruled the guy was out of bounds. Not that it would have mattered I'm sure Walter would have fumbled again. He's got Tony Banks disease for sure.

Suggs is a great player but he's not a QB an dwasn't in this game today.

Yeah, Jake's interceptions and fumbles were his coaches/teammates fault.

Hey Russ,

This was over at the Denver Post:

In the locker room at halftime, the Broncos got a Knute Rockne speech from, of all people, backup quarterback Jake Plummer. The Broncos' starter in three previous seasons and the first 11 games of this one, Plummer reminded his teammates, apparently at high decibels, that the game was not finished.

Plummer's words became Cutler's performance.

It's too late for Denver to go back to Plummer, a 70% winner. I think it was a crazy thing to do, putting a rookie in during a playoff run.

Now they have a demoted player giving the halftime speech.

He's a winner.

Actually so far everything I've read says Jake has handled the demotion very well. Some of the reporters openly said they feared a meltdown giving Jake's habit of saying or doing something he quickly regrets, but that he's been nothing but supportive of Cutler and hasn't been at all divisive.

His speech must have helped it was 28-3 at the half they were only outscored 20-17 after Jake fired them up.

As I said on the game thread yesterday the prevailing wisdom in Denver is Shanahan realized he was never going to win a Superbowl with Jake as his QB, that's his goal, so he essentially decided to sacrifice this season to get Cutler some experience so he'd be ready to go next year.

The interesting thing is in 2 starts Cutler has a higher QB rating, higher YPA, more than doubled the TD% but he's lost to a team in the Superbowl last year, and a team that might be in the Super bowl this year.
