Jalen Milroe

One possibility if the plan is to eventually move off Murray(not necessarily in 2025), is to draft a QB with great potential, but who needs a year or two of just sitting. Jalen Milroe is that guy for me. I watch most Alabama games and while Milroe had his ups and downs this year, the potential is so tantalizing. The thing that most obviously sticks out is the incredible speed at 6’2” and around 225-230 lbs. Before just lumping him in the Anthony Richardson category, Milroe has a track record of good to very good completion percentage in the high 60’s compared to the barely 50% Richardson had at Florida. His interceptions were up this year (10), but the year before playing for Nick Saban, he threw 23 touchdowns to only 6 interceptions.

The intangibles are very impressive. If Anquan Boldin was a grown ass man at WR, Milroe would fit that bill at QB. The toughness just stands out. Jalen has the awesome strength of a Josh Allen, as he can sling it with guys draped all over him. To me, Milroe is the anti Murray, a kid with warts who will learn, has the heart of a lion, and will take a vicious hit in order to deliver the ball.

Yeah, Kyler is never missing any open WR. He literally just has no one open to ever throw it to. It's not at all his fault he's indecisive and a Checkdown Charlie. Suuure.

Sure, I'm not saying they can't be athletes too, they are all technically athletes, I'm just done with them being an athlete and not much else.

People need to start being more impressed with looking off a safety to hit the deep crosser on the 2nd read, rather than the guy that can't and ends up scrambling for 10 yards.

But they’re more the exception.

Predicting which QBs are going to excel is so hard. I’m guessing not many had Bo Nix being a playoff QB ever, much less in year 1.
A QB I like is Klubnik from Clemson. Which means he’ll probably be terrible.

I can’t remember the last time I was right on a QB. Hated Philip Rivers, thought Stroud would be awful, loved Haskins, very skeptical of Mahomes, liked Rosen and Leinart, the list goes on.

Guys I like this year are Ewers, Klubniik(if he’d come out), and don’t like Cam Ward at all. Which means Ward will be OROY.

Ljack threw for 27tds 10ints and 3600 yards ran for 1700 and 17td his last college season.

The two guys aren’t in the same galaxy as far as QB talent. The fact Keim passed on LJack and took Rosen is the biggest football mistake this franchise has ever committed.

You described Lamar & Allen when they were prospects. Mahomes didn’t understand how to read his season until his 3rd year in the league. People didn’t know if Herbert could read a defense cause Oregon called so many screen plays.

Milroe could end up like those guys.

His mechanics were terrible and he was wildly inaccurate, not questionable.
Arm strength wasn’t his forte either. Being a great athlete was.

Kudos to him for becoming a competent passer.

Myself, and DVontel iirc wanted keim to stick at 15 and pick Lamar...
My first choice was to go after Sam Darnold but that obviously wasn't gonna happen... so snatching Lamar without having to trade picks seemed like a no brainer
