The Miami Dolphins are planning on parting ways with cornerback Jalen Ramsey, team general manager Chris Grier shared on Tuesday.

One of the best defensive backs of his generation, Ramsey provides the kind of star power that NFL teams dreams of adding this time of the offseason.

While he'll be 31 in October, Ramsey should still provide an elite level of play on the field for a least a few more seasons. We have no doubt that some NFL team will be interested in trading for Ramsey sooner than later.

As we survey his potential landing spots, these five teams make the most sense as of now.

Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons need talent on defense, and Ramsey has a strong relationship with Atlanta coach Raheem Morris from their Los Angeles Rams days that could make Flowery Branch an alluring destination for the star defender.

While the Falcons would undoubtedly want to send a 2026 NFL Draft pick in this scenario with only five selections going into next week for the 2025 NFL Draft, Ramsey could join cornerback A.J. Terrell and safety Jessie Bates III to give Atlanta one of the better secondaries in the NFC on paper.

He could play cornerback or safety in Atlanta, too, with spots open at both positions. This makes a lot of sense for both sides.

Las Vegas Raiders

The Raiders need good players in the secondary period, and Ramsey might stand to get a pay raise with a trade out to Las Vegas. Joining a player-friendly coach like Pete Carroll might be pretty enticing for Ramsey at this point in his career, and he'd immediately be a franchise face for a Raiders team deprived of star power.

Las Vegas has the draft capital and cap space to make this worthwhile for Miami and Ramsey both if there's mutual interest. With quarterback Geno Smith in town, the Raiders might be more competitive than you might expect this fall.

Adding a player like Ramsey would make that pursuit that much more viable. Plus, Ramsey has mentioned Las Vegas in the past as a spot of interest. Maybe it finally comes together?

Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles have a history of trading for talented veterans, and Philly adding Ramsey to the secondary for its Super Bowl defense would make a ton of sense for both sides.

It'd give Ramsey a definite contender to join for the next stage of his career, and it'd give the Eagles an excellent cornerback to pair with rising star Quinyon Mitchell for the foreseeable future.

Adding Ramsey in April is the kind of aggressive move that makes Howie Roseman one of the best general managers in the sport. It wouldn't be a shock to see it happen.

San Francisco 49ers

The 49ers are in a very weird spot of losing a ton of talent but still being a veteran-heavy team at the top. Ramsey is not a guy you'd normally add if you're fully in a rebuild, but San Francisco might be a good landing spot for him as the 49ers teeter between the future and the present.

Ramsey could join returning defensive coordinator Robert Saleh and be a chess piece on the back end to slow down opposing offenses. San Francisco has clear need in the secondary at cornerback and safety.

We're not sure how the 49ers will be next year, but adding a player of Ramsey's caliber would certainly inspire more confidence in the ceiling of the defense. Again, the team's secondary really could use him.

Tennessee Titans

Ramsey has expressed interest in returning to Nashville in the past. After all, he was born right outside of Music City and was a standout at neighboring Brentwood Academy in high school.

Ramsey finally playing for the Titans would just feel right. With the Cam Ward era likely on the horizon for Tennessee, bringing Ramsey back to town as a pro would be a great way to get local fans even more excited in this new season of Titans football.

Tennessee has the cap space and draft capital to pull a move like this off, and Ramsey would immediately become the best player in the Titans secondary upon arrival.
