The Jalen Rose Foundation announced Friday that former Michigan Wolverines and Detroit Southwestern star Jalen Rose will award five Detroit high school seniors with college scholarships.
The scholarships, totaling $50,000, will be given to the high school seniors beginning their college education this fall. Rose, who plays for the Toronto Raptors, will award at least one scholarship to Michigan. Last year the program was open only to Southwestern students, but this year, all Detroit seniors are eligible.
