Problem is Channing Frye doesn't play like a big.

I never said he did. You asked why the Suns are paying more for Frye than for Dudley, so I explained the context and thought process behind it. I never said I agreed or was happy with what the Suns are paying Frye.

Would you have preferred the Suns paid Dudley more, just so it would be more fair compared to what Frye makes? Of course not. It would just give you one more thing to complain about (shelling out $6m a year for a backup SF).

Given the start Barbosa is off to this season, I think it's a reasonable guess that the trade market for him was pretty soft.

+1. The trade market was probably best after he was 6th man of the year.

Um, you do know that Lopez doesn't have a contract extension, right? He just had his option picked up.
Whatever, its like a one year extension.

Point is that he doesn't try hard until the end of the season when its contract time. Same with Frye and Dudley. They only play well when they know its time for them to get a new deal.

Our new additions of Warrick & Childress have done more to help this team this season than Frye or Dudley.

That's because Frye and Dudley are more suited as complementary players with BOTH Amare and Nash to draw attentions, while Childress and Warrick have more games of their own. Once Amare is gone, it makes no sense to sign Frye and no real urgency to extend Dudley.

If Robin only cared about a big payday wouldn't he be trying harder seeing how he is up for a big extension after this season? It would be too risky for him to coast through the first half of a contract year, in case for example he injured his back again which limited his effectiveness throughout the course of the season. No, a lot of his problems this year are to do with injuries (and not having Amare next to him).

Frye is what he is and all he ever will be - a tissue soft big man. Nothing really has changed there. The only differences between this season and last season is 1. he's pretty much our only big man this year as he is not flanked by Amare and last season's Lopez, and is just out of his depth; and 2. his shot has been off all season (maybe partly to do with 1.)

And Dudley? bleh

Childress has NOT done more than Frye. Look, Frye may not be earning his contract, but Childress hasn't done much of anything yet. I'm hoping he will once he gets that stupid splint off, but Frye has actually been one of our most consistent players since Robin Lopez went down. Even more consistent than JRich.

That's true. Late against the Bulls, he had a block, a couple of big rebounds, and two made free throws, any of which would have been seen as critical had the Suns managed to win. He's still poor defensively, but the times that he's completely lost are becoming less frequent.

dudley needs to get his ass in gear. seems like warrick and childress are affecting his performance. they are longer, quicker and more atletic than dudley. seems like dudley's impact last year was amplified by the fact that we didnt have as many forwards as we do this year. atleast he could provide some quality outside shooting.
