According to hoopshype via a foreign website I can't read. He wants to be on a contender.

I like Jaric and think he has been put in situations that weren't beneficial for him. I actually think he'd be a good fit on this team. He's paid too much, but at least he'd make the rotation. I'd be happy with a Banks/Pike for Jaric trade. He could play in the backcourt pretty easily with Nash or Barbosa. He could also moonlight at the 3 if necessary.

He has an unbelievably bad contract. According to Hoopshype:

2007-08 $6.05 million
2008-09 $6.58 million
2009-10 $7.10 million
2010-11 $7.63 million

For a guy with career 7.8 ppg on 40.3% shooting and 33.9% for three, this is amazingly bad. He's supposed to be a point guard, but with the Wolves he had:

3.9 assists in 28 minutes in 2005-06
2.1 assists in 22 minutes in 2006-07

I think he's an effective secondary playmaker and open three point shooter. Although this is from watching him in limited games. But I'd rather overpay more for a rotation player than overpay less for a non rotation player. That being said, there are better players available who make that much money. Also, who knows? Banks could turn things around?

I cannot tell how many times I've watched a guy have a couple of good games and then be shocked at his stat line for the season.

Obviously there are guys like Matt Barnes who needed to go to the right team to succeed, but once guys sign long term contracts they are generally stuck. It's not like a buyout is feasible with that much time left on the deal.

As a prospect, Udoka seems much more interesting, but IMHO it is highly unlikely the Suns are shopping for another wing.

This should have been the last post in this thread. There is no way the Suns even think about adding that contract.

Odds of wolves buying him out would have been a more logical discussion than bringing up his contract and the suns lolol

Jaric is awful. If there's any team on which he can become a capable player, it would be the Suns, but it's not worth a $27 million gamble.
