Toronto pulled their qualifying offer to him making him an UFA. He would come far cheaper than Gordon or Mayo probably. He can fill it up too.

Has bayless been playing SG or PG? I know hes only listed at 6'3..

Why is it that Bayless seems smaller than Gordon or Dragic. He would be ok if cheap. I don't mind giving promising young players a shot at minutes, as long as it doesn't cripple financially.

I think NO is going to match.

Bayless is a baffling player. He has all the tools to be the next Tony Parker, the dude can get into the paint as well as just about anyone... but once he gets there he takes bad angles, attempts bad passes...

He should be much better than he is, but at this point I dont see him as anything more than a low efficiency ball hog. I'd take a one year flier on him but nothing long term.

Im guessing your one of the guys on here who complains about everything..

Its alot easier and more organized than a 20 page FA thread talking about 40 different players.

Agreed.

A 45 page thread about 20 different players that keeps going back and forth between topics is MUCH harder to follow than just looking Suns Board and seeing what topic as about what player.

Apparently gambo says if we dont get gordon were going after brown again. I wonder why they havent shown interest in mayo or bayless...

Well see, hes an AZ product so they might

My question is can he hold his own at SG? Especially on defense?

I like Bayless as like a second or third tweener PG who can play like a SG as well. The only problem is the Suns already have Telfair under contract who sort of fits this role. I'd be very pleased if the Suns could add Bayless to their roster. Never can have too much scoring ability on the team. Also I don't think his potential has ever been properly tapped.

Who made a thread complaining about the signing of Batum?

One of the reasons I like this board is the multiple threads. Sometimes, on phxsuns.net they spend more time complaining about starting new threads than actually talking basketball, and those huge generic threads are miserable to navigate.

Who cares? If people want to discuss Batum's contract its easier to do so in an isolated thread than trying to navigate some giant mess.

Bayless only wants to be a PG so why should he come here.

Tim Chisholm: The biggest problem for Bayless was he only saw himself as a PG, and the team didn’t share his confidence he could play the pos full time.

Well the ones who dislike the long restrictive threads leave. I guess I'm one of them. I never liked not being able to start a new Suns thread that I thought was interesting. As long as new threads started on this site are basically Suns related I enjoy discussing new talking points.

If the Suns do go after Bayless it better be as a starter. It's pretty remarkable how much better he is as a starter, not only in terms of volume but efficiency too. While obviously not the best back court I do think he can play next to Dragic.

Just tell Bayless the Suns are running a two PG system and start him. :D

He and Dragic are both combo guards imo. Bayless is more of a 2 and Dragic more of a 1. I don't think Bayless would really care as long as he was starting.

If the Hornets match Eric Gordon, Jerryd Bayless would be my choice!! I Loved his game at U of A and the Suns wouldn't need to give up Draft Picks/players to Hornets, via sign n trade... the most I'd even offer New Orleans is one 1st Rounder.

I really wanted Dragic or Bayless, as starting PG but to get both in backcourt would be perfect. Marshall off the bench with Dudley/Childress guarding the bigger SG's - they'd be able to compete...

but also the Suns then could amn. Childress the following year, let Telfair's contract expire, Warrick's contract has team option??; and Suns would have a little bit of capspace, along with two 1st Rounders for '13-14 Season.

If Gordon is matched, I might be inclined to split that money between Mayo or Bayless and a young PF like Hickson (would have preferred Speights though). But I'm afraid there's a potential that would turn into another Childress/Warrick fiasco. There's a reason why these players have bounced around. All the players who are available right now including Bayless, with few exceptions like Gordon, are players that teams have given up on.

O.J. Mayo is another option but I don't know J.J. Hickson's game enough to respond... and I'd also consider Terrence Williams, Gerald Green, etc. on cheaper contracts (SG).

Shannon Brown played well, at the end of Season to be an option - Bayless or Mayo would be higher on my list though, and the first part of Season soured me a bit on Brown.
