The latest mock draft from CBS Sports has Jase Richardson being selected as a near lottery pick.

The Spartans' freshman standout is currently projected to be selected in the first round of the NBA Draft, but how high will he go? Well, Cameron Salerno of CBS Sports has him landing just outside of the lottery in his latest NBA Mock Draft that was released on Monday.

Salerno has Richardson going No. 15 overall to the Oklahoma City Thunder. This would be the first pick outside of the lottery. Here's what Salerno had to say about Richardson:

"Richardson started the season in a reserve role at Michigan State and blossomed into the best player on Tom Izzo's squad. Richardson is a great mid-range shooter and was fantastic at finishing around the rim during his lone season in East Lansing."

Richardson averaged 12.1 points per game in his lone season with Michigan State this past year. He shot 41.2% from three-point range and became the Spartans' best player down the stretch.

Spartans head coach Tom Izzo said last week that he believes there's still a chance Richardson will return for another season at Michigan State. Richardson will have until June 15 to withdraw from the NBA Draft should he change his mind and want to return for another season as a Spartan.
