Ian Rapoport is a dork. He mixed up the schools for both Tetairoa McMillan and Cam Skattebo. SMH.

Some national sportswriter.

Never seems to do this for Florida/Florida St., Oregon/Oregon St. and other two-college states. Constantly mixes up ASU and the U of A though.

Yes, there was yet another mix-up … ASU’s Cam Skattebo called Arizona RB during NFL Draft

You would think everyone would’ve learned a great lesson when Arizona wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan was mistakenly called an “ASU star” when he was drafted by the Carolina Panthers eighth overall on Thursday.

Especially when it comes to the main culprit and NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Well, it appears there is still some learning to do, as Rapaport again mixed up the rival schools when reporting on “Arizona RB” Cam Skattebo and his fourth-round selection to the New York Giants.
That's not even surprising. ASU and UofA are barely afterthoughts in football at the national level and announcers have mixed up the schools for as long as I can remember. ASU will have to have several seasons like the last one before that changes.

My concerns I've said before, so physical you wouldn't expect a long career, and concerns about fumbles because he fights for extra yards so often, in the NFL that can lead to fumbles.

I guess now I have to start my Jaydn Ott campaign for next year. Transferring from Cal to Oklahoma, had a bad ankle injury last year limited him all year but was one of the highly coveted transfers in the portal.
I can see this, i just wonder if its over analyzing. There are some runningbacks that defy the longevity rules, such as james connor, and i thinj skatt has the mindset to do that. Hes a competitor

Plummer and Tillman helped us get to the playoffs for the first time in Arizona - and beat the Dallas Cowboys in Dallas during the playoffs. They did okay.
Tillman didn’t really do anything to help the Cardinals get to the playoffs.

I am seeing comparisons to CMC but he's not as fast as Christian. I think that one is more due to being both a good runner and receiver and the melanin issue but seen several people call him a poor mans CMC

I'll go waaayyyyy back and say he reminds me of Robert Newhouse of the Cowboys. Very similar in stature IIRC.

A very poor man, but the styles are kinda consistent imo.

I don’t see how a smallish, slowish guy, who’s main strength was running through college arm tackles translates to a good NFL player.

Those defenders he was trying to bounce off of in college are going to be coming faster, bigger and far better at tackling.

A) he’s not small. He’s close to average height and he weighs more than average. Which means he’s pretty thick.

B) this description sells his abilities incredibly short. He wasn’t just a power runner. He had maybe the best balance of anyone I saw play last year. He has excellent field vision. And he’s an excellent, not just good, receiver.

Very reductionist. But lets say what youre saying is true, he doesnt get the opportunity to improve/grow at the next level like every other player?

I don't know if it will translate to the NFL or not, but the balance is really what stood out to me.

Kind of that stocky stride that some of the other successful backs like that have had

Some of his runs really reminded me of Marshawn in that it was difficult for defenders to make good contact - it wasn't so much that he was running through tackles, he was maintaining his balance and keeping momentum

The NFL is crazy difficult though and getting to those spots to utilize those attributes is harder and NFL guys definitely finish better

I don't think a bad pick at that area

Honestly, although I like BSU and Jeanty, I do have some concern with him with having so much after contact yards as visually I've seen a lot where a better defender would have stuck him - still a ton of ability though but wouldn't be shocked if he doesn't live up to where he was picked
