Former Vanderbilt basketball guard Jason Edwards has committed to Providence, he announced on Instagram on Friday.
Edwards, a Third Team All-SEC selection, averaged a team-high 17 points per game in 2024-25 in helping the Commodores make it to March Madness for the first time since 2017.
Edwards put up double-digit scoring in all but two games and had 10 games with at least 20 points.
He entered the transfer portal despite previously telling reporters in Cleveland, where Vanderbilt was lost in the first round of the NCAA tournament, that he would return for the 2025-26 season.

Edwards' commitment to Providence comes amid talk that revenue-sharing under the House settlement would benefit Big East schools in basketball. Because Big East programs (outside of UConn) do not have football, they are able to devote a larger proportion of their revenue-sharing pools to basketball.
