In Clayton's column he mentions Gildon is likely to be released in June for cap reasons He'll be 32 in July, maybe he's Graves secret weapon pass rusher that he is waiting on?

Some of these type guys will get cut they always do. Wouldn't you rather have Gildon and say Madsen the any of the pass rushers and CBs that were out there? I would.
The Cards will have the most money of any team and can cherry pick these guys no one will be able to outbid the Cards for these kids of players.

Plus there are still some guys left out there who will now be cheaper and again the Cards are right there when it comes to NOT having spent money. Sapp 3 year deal 12 million dollars type deals.

It would be ok if we sign two impact players now and save say three or four million just in case for June cuts. One thing I think we all learned last year was some times there is nobody to get after June. I sure hope that Rod Graves has learned this lesson well from last year.

There are cetain players that will not sign with particular teams because of their age and situation.
Warren Sapp is one of those players. I don't think he would come to a team like the Cards because his age and experience will land him on a team ready to win.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers stayed in-house Saturday to make their first major free-agent signing of the offseason, bringing back linebacker Clark Haggans in a move that likely means former All-Pro outside linebacker Jason Gildon won't return.
