You cant sign with the team that traded you for like 3 months if youre bought out.

Blazers get the Shaft Royale in that deal and have no incentive to do it. Outlaw Jack and Frye for Harris? Just silly. Nets dont look to be making any huge advancements with the deal either.

3 months from being traded from the old team, or from the time of buyout?

Thats right.

Well Stack would give the Suns another 3 point shooter, which many (including myself) have said they seem to need this year. It doesn't really help their interior problem, except that it mans less minutes for Marion at the 3, so take that as you will.

In a game like tonight, would Stack be the perfect guy to get physical with Manu and/or Duncan? Me thinks, yes. I want Stack because he is the toughest, meanest SOB in the NBA... when he is on the court. I don't care for his scoring potential, rather his ability to mix it up at the wing defensively. I would play Stack at the expense of Diaw's minutes, and move Shawn to the 4 spot. Unless of course Amare is out, then Diaw can play the 5.

Exactly, and doesn't Roy run the point for them? I don't get it.

ultimately i think they'd prefer to see roy at the 2. he plays alongside jack quite a bit.

the commentary about needing to trade makes some sense. but i would think it would behoove them to trade players for future draft picks, thereby making sure they have a nice continuing pipeline of talent, and stockpiling picks for packages for future superstars, if needed. trading three talented players for one just doesn't seem very farsighted.

they already get a lot of easy shots and layups against us. i don't think j-kidd can get them much more.

I am speaking in general. I think going into the playoffs they were the worst team for points in the paint. Jason Kidd changes that. He like Nash will create more dunks and layups. That will significantly change things. He can have a big impact on that.

I don't think this deal makes sense. Dallas doesn't imo get better as someone pointed out at least harris runs around and can score. Losing Stack and Harris for Kidd doesn't make them better imo. And this deal makes no sense for Portland to trade all of those guys for Harris? Seems way to lopsided and they don't need a PG, something tells me this is more rumor than actually going to happen.

The word from Truehoop is that New Jersey is circulating rumours of this trade just to increase Kidd's perceived value.
