Cutler was rated at #33 and Stanton #31 in the Bleacher Report review of 2017 QB play.

Don't get sidetracked by the name recognition. Cutler was reunited with Gase in Miami (the coach he had his best season with) and still had a below average performance.

Maybe a stop gap guy for the Cards and a drafted QB? When the season is lost, play the rook. Cutler should be able to get Fitz his yards and maybe even his 92 catches to go #2 all-time as a receiver.

Anyone have an idea how Cutler would perform under McCoy?

My brother in-law is a die hard Dolphin fan and pretty cynical about the current situation in Miami but he was bummed when Cutler was hurt... the guy was doing alright for Miami

Tough to be great in Miami when his receivers could not run routes, could not separate and couldn't catch a cold. No TEs did not help. Piss poor O line. No training camp. Didn't find a running game until they dumped Jay Ajayi.

Not the worst idea. Sign him up.

Dolphins are willing to sign Cutler for $6.6 mil to be a backup to Tannehill for 2018. Probably would not have to match his $10 mil ( that is cheap for starting QB) of last year. He can sling it.
Problem is he sucks and his team mates generally hate him....

lol. Everyone wants the 2nd coming of Peyton Manning; not gonna happen. Practicality has been lost.
Right? Everyone thinks we are signing Aaron Rodgers as a stop gap or else the world is coming to an end. Delusional.

I'm certainly not a Cutler fan, but its funny, the year he was drafted, he was able to outlast the two guys drafted before him in Young and Leinart. And I like Josh McCown, but don't think he's the answer at this point in his career. But again its funny, he's actually been one of the better qb's the Cards have drafted in recent memoery when it comes to staying power in the NFL.

Yep. I'm guilty to a degree myself, but more on the draft front. I want us to take a shot at getting our Aaron Rodgers in the draft. I'm also picky about what kind of vet QB I want us to sign. I want someone competent enough to start, but not good enough for the team to get the excuse of saying, "See, we HAVE a QB, so no need to do our jobs for once and go get that young QBOF!"

Bradford, Cutler, McCown, Stanton, Gabbert, ect... It really doesn't matter who the bridge QB is as long as we get our guy in the draft.

The fact that both Kraperpick® and now Cutler have been suggested here as possible Cards QBs thoroughly boggles the mind.

I'm not a Cutler fan. However, a one year cheap deal with a top rated rookie being groomed would work for me with Cutler.

Cutler won't come cheap.
He just played for $10 million.

Sign him to 2 years at $20 million, with $15 million guaranteed.

Draft your rookie and groom him. Cutler starts year 1 and is backup year 2, if rookie is ready to go. Also gives a chance to draft rookie in 2019, if this coming draft falls apart.
