New York radio station Power 105.1 will award Jay-Z with the "Man of the Millennium Award," at the stations Power Music Summit, taking place next week.

The station is honoring Jay-Z for his charitable work and community efforts.

Jay-Z will make an appearance at the one day event, that gives business executives, aspiring label entrepreneurs, song writers, producers, and artists a chance to discuss the ins and outs of the business.

Speakers include Jermaine Dupri (President of Urban Music at Virgin Records), Blue Williams (President of Family Tree Entertainment), Bryan Leach (TVT Records/Vice President of A&R), Chris Lighty (CEO of Violator Mgmt/Records), Irv Gotti (CEO of The Inc. Records), Jim Jones (Artist), and others.

Speakers will discuss how they got their big breaks, the ups and downs of the business and share tips on what they wish they would have known when they got started.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to drop demos or resumes in a box that will be sent directly to each panelist.

Power 105.1's Ed Lover and Egypt will serve as hosts of the summit, which takes place on Saturday, April 16th at the Manhattan Center's Grand Ballroom.

Tickets to the Power Music Summit are currently on sale at http://www.ticketmaster.com.

Given that there's another 994 years to go in this millenium--and somebody just might be born in the meantime whose contributions to mankind exceed those even of Jay-Z--isn't Power 105.1 jumping the gun just a bit?
