(7:00) HUGE game tonight. I would love to sweep Utah this year and homecourt is always nice. We need to bring the defense and hope our shots are falling.

Gortat on the Kings game...“They just kept scoring and kept scoring and we couldn’t stop them,” said center Marcin Gortat. “And when we did stop them, we couldn’t execute.”

The intensity has to be there tonight, this is a must win for the Jazz. I don't want to go back under .500 so I consider this one a must win for the Suns. Kirilenko is going to miss the game and Raja is a game time decision. Suns are pretty healthy, and the crowd needs to go nuts tonight.

Go Suns.

It's hard to beat a team twice in a week, but the game at Utah was the one the Suns were predicted to lose due to the Jazz effort for their new coach. That didn't arrive, and it hasn't really yet. Not saying it's a given by any stretch (especially after the Kings game). But it's winnable.

Might be a new starting line up soon. We are definitely starting out poorly in games, and then we try and pick it up. Not gonna work against the better clubs, need to play all 28 minutes, and not get behind early. We should be building a lead when Nash is on the court.

'Glad to hear you mention that. Gortat needs to be in the starting unit with Nash. They, along with Hill, are the most important components to our success for the rest of the season.

Any time Nash is on the floor without Gortat is lost time that, quite often, cannot be made up. Constantly playing catchup from the start of the game or the start of the 2nd half wears a team down.

If Robin Lopez cannot produce some scoring coming off the bench, starting the 2nd and 4th quarters for example, he shouldn't be playing in the NBA.

You know we are gonna put the Floppin Robin fans in a frenzy right? :D LOLopez has improved his game big time, but still doesn't bring it all the time. I like his progress, but we are starting out games with no defense. Not to mention Gortat has earned the start.
Dudley should be our 6th man canidate, not the 20 pt 10 board bad ass center from Poland. ;)

Improved his game big time . . . doesn't bring it all the time . . . no defense. That pretty much sums up Lopez's game.

That's instant offense, which is best utilized coming off the bench, when you are desperate to score points in a short spurt, despite a disadvantage in defense and rebounding.

And hoping that he's brought it tonight. And, if not, we were behind anyway, send him back to the bench. Nothing to lose at that point.

'Certainly not the definition of a starting Center. In fact, instant offense is usually thought of as a Wing player, not your anchor in the post.

Gortat is the anchor who makes the Suns solid. Lopez is the anchor who drags the team to the bottom. :)

I agree.
I still say start Lopez; at least for today. How can you not start him against this Jazz team he played well against only a few days ago.

I'd like to see Dragic get some minutes playing alongside Nash. I doubt it though because Gentry wants Carter to be the Suns leading scorer. I can only hope Gentry changes his mind. I'd rather see Dudley, Pietrus and Dragic get most of the minutes at SG.

See quote from Paul Coro's article at azcentral dated 2-15-11 with link below.

* Carter is in the worst stretch of his career for scoring and playing time. He has not made more than three shots in any of his past four games, is 1 for 11 from 3-point range in that stretch and did not have an assist in either of the past two games. He also did not play in the fourth quarter of either game.

Gentry said he told Carter that they expect him to be the leading scorer because they traded their leading scorer to get him.

"The only way he can do that is I've got to have him out on the court and I've got to get him engaged," Gentry said. "We've got to get that ball in his hands where he can do things. If we're going to make a playoff run, he's going to have to be a part of it."

Bad defense by Lopez already. He is 0 for 2 shooting. His guy Jefferson is 2 for 2, get Floppin Robin out of there.

Proteus, please include lopez on your stat sheet tonight. I think I've counted a few turnovers, 0 for 4 shooting, and the guy he is defending hasn't missed yet. Any rebounds by Lopez too. (thx)
