That's true.

And the offense we run doesn't necessarily demand a true pg. Its really a motion, passing offense and needs players with the same skill sets that MJ Bulls had, or the present Lakers.

That would be one quality defensive tandem as well.

JJ can't even play with Penny around. Kobe would swallow him alive.

Last week Jerry Colangelo thought Lampe was a first-round draft pick. I trust Bryan Colangelo more than his father on this one, and he has said several times that the Cleveland pick is lottery protected until the end of time.

I think that mistake was probably a product of lazy thinking--Lampe was rated as a first-round prospect, has a first-round contract, etc.

This 'mistake' is different--JC is consciously asserting against the previously understood facts of the matter.

My guess p) is that JC went to David Stern about this and Stern told him to come back in three or four years, figuring it would never get to that point anyway...

Why that? Didn't Pippen need MJ to win championships? So, if you got chance, wouldn't you want get the modern version of MJ/Pippen in Kobe/JJ? The assortment of skills and talents are eerily similar between them! With Barbosa and Amare, they will be a scary defensive team to say the least!
