Yes, I was against the cutting of William Gay from the day we cut him because we did not have anyone of equal talent to replace him with. It was a stupid move then and is a stupid move now.

Who says he wanted to be here? He might have been one of Horton's guys plan and simple. Gay didn't play that great last year and with much better CB talent in FA this year you cut ties and go after something better.

He has 42 starts over the same career span as Toler who has 15.

OK, and William gay had 64 starts over the same span that Powers had 42. You would have a point if you were speaking of replacing Toler, but we are speaking of replacing Gay.

Please don't try and use logic and common sense with Chopper right now. He's in serious negative Nancy mode.

We replaced William Gay, who started 64 games since 2009, with Jerraud Powers, who started 42 games over that same span. Using logic, that is a bad trade off if you depending on that player to be your #2 CB and playing 16 games in a season (which Powers never has).

I have a point because I'm comparing Powers to Toler who displaced Gay at the end of last season.

If this guy can stay healthy he should be a good pickup. I would take him over Gay but not Toler. So far I don't see where we have improved the team. As far as I can see we are a worse team than we were just a week ago.
