Sacks is my favorite "Local" sandwich shop.

Still mad Panera bought and ruined Paradise Bakery.
Sacks is still around? I did not know that. I used to love them when I was in high school. There was one across the street from my school. They were great back then.

100% on Panera ruining Paradise Bakery. They ruined the menu and the locations. The one at FLW and 101 had a great dining area. We used to do coding meet-ups at it and buy food and drinks all night. The generic stand alone buildings suck compared to it.

Had Sacks for lunch - there is one on University and Hardy - 1/2 mile from my office.

When I worked at 101 and Warner, there was a large Paradise Bakery a mile away at 101 and Ray - great place. Panera took over, started eliminating my favorite menu items, then closed the restaurant and moved a mile south to a new smaller location

I know the one you're talking about. I used to go to it all of the time when I was working at contract at the GM offices at Frye and the 101. That was a good Paradise. It the one I mentioned, and the one that was at Tatum and Shea were all nice, big locations with good menus.

For Jimmy Johns vs Mike's I'll take JJ simply because they have their unwich option where they do a lettuce wrap instead of bread. Mike's doesn't list it as an options. Most of the other sub shops don't either. It was one of the things I liked about WhichWich too when they were around me.
I started keto last week. Anything that's lettuce wrap is gold.

I've been on a paleo/primal type of diet since 2013. No bread or grains in that time. So it's must for me now. I made that diet switch after having my knee rebuild and reading about causes of inflammation. Made a huge difference for me with how beat up my ankles, knees, and shoulders got from playing baseball. I was a catcher so I took a beating at times.

Lunch today was a low carb breakfast quesadilla with eggs, bacon, cheese and a low carb tortilla. Was amazing. I can definitely do this.

Is Miracle Mile deli still around and good? I haven't lived in Phoenix for quite a while so not familiar anymore. I used to really like them when they were at Chris Town. A fond memory from my younger days.

I gotta put Firehouse up there too as far as chains are concerned.
I really think it depends on the specific location and probably even the sandwich you choose. We have a Firehouse near the VA hospital I use and it's excellent but we were unimpressed with the two other locations we ate at. Our Jimmy Johns closed about 10 years ago because Jersey Mike's was two blocks away and was kicking their butt regularly. I greatly preferred JJ's tuna but JM's Italian was much better and that's usually my sandwich of choice. Now, though, we have a Capriotti's and it's better than every chain we've tried the past 40 years.

The Capriotti's thanksgiving sandwich is one of the best.

The Bobbie… My least fav sandwich on the menu lol…. Don’t like cranberry sauce and the whole stuffing on bread bread doesn’t work for me.

The Capistrami the BEST! :)
The roast turkey is the best though...if only they had some dipping gravy on the side.
