I really hope the FO makes a strong push for Logan Mankins this offseason. The Patriots offensive line has been noticeably better since he's been back. Plus, he has the perfect attitude on the field for an o-linemen.

Definitely need O-line vets from quality teams like the Pats.

Arent 3 of them in the 1st round to boot? Wow!

I wouldn't bet against him having 6 or 7 by the time he is done.

The guy is such a fiery competitor. LOVE LOVE LOVE watching him play.
Me too. Brady makes throws that are just things of beauty.

Why don't our wide receivers ever get that wide open? Why don't our pulling Guards blow up LBs like that? Why don't we have TE play like the Patriots seem to have every year?

The execution of plays on both sides of the ball by the Patriots is phenomenal.

Great QB + great coaching. Just look what we did with a great QB and mediocre coaching.

I bet Montana is at the top of nearly every positive stat in passing in SB history...plus he has never lost one. Give me 1 game to win and Montana's my guy!!!

i wouldn't begrudge you there. I go back and forth on Joe and Brady. They're both disgustingly good QBs and leaders of championship football teams.

I'd take Joe Montana over anyone anyday. 4 rings...nuff said!!!

It's fun to make these comparisons, but they really aren't appropriate. Montana never played in this type of Salary Cap/FA era. He never had to deal with the sort of player movement that is now a staple of the NFL. Just look at the players across both sides of the ball that have come and gone since Brady has been the starter... Montana never was forced to deal with that type of player movement. Of course, Montana also had Rice (HoFer), Lott (Hofer), Craig, Rathman, Clark, Jones, etc, etc, etc...
Who has Brady had on a consistent basis that would even compare to any of those guys? Welker is maybe the closest thing to a consistent weapon he's had.

Therefore - IMHO, Brady is without a doubt, the greatest QB I have ever seen, and arguably, the greatest QB to ever play the game.

East Coast Bias. :) There is some doubt, since they played in different eras.

We're splitting hairs of course. However, I would really like to see what Montana would've done with Benjarvus Green-Ellis and Danny Woodhead as his backs. Welker, Branch, Tate and Price as his WR's. A grouping of unknown TE's, and with the exception of Vince Wilfork, a cast of incredibly young unknowns on defense.

And of course, this is really a story about Montana & Walsh, vs Brady & Belichek. Montana without Walsh and Brady without Belichek would undoubtedly create very different outcomes.
IMHO, the Brady and Belichek combination is the greatest HC-QB combo in the history of the sport. Yes, I know Bradshaw and Knoll won more games, but when it's all said and done, Brady & Belichek will have eclipsed them all in terms of W's. No doubt they will also pick up another Super Bowl or two. All the while, doing so in an era where player movement and salary caps have made it enormously difficult to sustain consistency and winning - something Montana & Walsh and Bradshaw and Knoll never had to deal with...

Oh no... remember, I'm a New Yorker. We HATE anything and anyone that has anything to do with Boston! It kills me to have to admit and acknowledge the greatness of Brady and Belichek. But, it is what it is... they are indescribably great...
