Couldn't be a JJ thread without Canon weighing in. Now where's johnh?

I am right here D-Dogg reading the lovefest info about JJ. I would be happy if anyone could run for a TD not just JJ. What is his yards per carry up to?
Sounds like the next Walter Peyton from reading all this. As the old lady at McDonalds says "show me the beef"! I do not believe any thing until I see it when it comes to our team. I would be happy if he was just half the runner the O.J. Anderson was.

First off it was Wendy's not Mcdonalds. But,i agree, it's gottn so bad that people are raving about a 40 yard performance. He does look like he's running with more assertiveness though. It can't be the coaching he receiving.DG and the offensive coaches don't know anything :p .

3.1 YPC now, 4.4 his last 4 games. First it was Barry Sanders now it's Payton?

I believe that was a Burger King commercial and it was "where's the beef?"

At least give the kid a chance John you labelled him a bust round about his 2nd preseason game IIRC.

At least he doesn't have 62 yards in his last 35 carries he's getting better not worse.

You won't find a bigger Shipp supporter than myself, but I'll have to admit that JJ looked a lot better this last game. Whether he starts or not, he should definetely be given more touches.

Speaking of that, why oh why do they not develope a screen pass to JJ where they let the defensive line come in (on purpose) and dump it over their heads. This kid is blazing fast (a fact that really became apparent at this last game). If he ever gets loose in the secondary, there are very few people who could catch him, even with an angle on him.

He is looking better (not great and just average at the best) because they have finally figured out how to throw him some short passes in the flat like the St Louis team did when they were so good. He will do better working with Warner because Warner can recognize the defense better than McCown and can get him the ball in a position he can use his skills. He has some space to work in. Going into the line is still not his game and I doubt it ever will be as he is not strong enough and still seems tentative. I was hoping for a lot from him from day one. About game three I begin to lose confidence as he was losing yardage. Improving is good but that was not hard to do considering how he had been performing. He has to improve a lot more to be what we all hoped he would be. I certainly hope he will be good but I will not lie to myself and pretend he better than what I have observed. I do not see his name in any articles in the papers or hear the announcers raving about his prospects.

Well, between the two of you, you're homing in on it. It was Wendy's with the slogan, "Where's the beef?".

Proof that those kind of ads don't work, I remember the lady's name, Clara Peller, but not what company she was pitching. :D

Thanks Dave

He's averaging 16.6 yards per game, way more than your 14.5!!!

I have a buddy at USC who says Bush has like 15 fumbles already so I think we should avoid him. Forget what the official stats say, my buddy knows it's true.

:D ;) :)

Now thats funnny...

I don't think John was referring to that commerical at all. I think he just consorts with randy old ladies. :D

As for JJ, I think he's going to make the most of his touches this week at Detroit. I think he'll bust one or two 15+ runs and average 5.0+ ypc this weekend.

I reserve the right to edit this post after the next game to make my prediction appear more accurate.
