Did anyone see that foul call at the end of that you tube clip where oberto is setting a pick on howard and howard throws his body into oberto and oberto gets the foul? That call was just as bad as the technical call, might be one of the worst flops i've ever seen. It looks like crawford made that one too.

Yeah the way Howard came at Oberto, he raised his hands up almost in self defense and I think they ruled that was an illegal screen. But if he doesnt do that, Howard basically hits him in the chest and face full speed.

I don't think both of Oberto's feet were set (I think one was off the ground), but the offensive player shouldn't be able to plow through a defenders chest like that.

Mr. Crawford gave Timmy a timeout so he could resume teaching the class. Instead of learning his lesson, Timmy decided to continued to disrupt the class with his whiny laughing. Mr. Crawford had enough and sent Timmy on his way. The principal then suspended Mr. Crawford.

Not quite. It is more like the teacher tried to suspend Tim after he had already given him detention. He already went to detention, no need to suspend him.

Duncan is likely to get very few calls in the playoffs. The revenge of the refs. Just when Stern starts to come down on whiney ass players, he pulls this one. Bad move.

There's enough bad to go around. In any case, Crawford's tendency to lose his temper is a serious problem even if he's often considered a fairly competant ref.

For some reason it reminds me of an old joke. A man and his wife were in a cart being pulled by a donkey when the donkey just stops and won't move. The man gots out and goes to face the donkey, looks the donkey in the eye and holds up his index finger as he quietly says "one". Pretty soon the donkey starts up, but pulls the same trick of just stopping and not moving. The man comes out, shows two fingers and says "two".

The third time it happens, he picks up a two by four and slams it against the donkey's head.

The wife gets livid and starts screaming at him for his cruelty to animals. When she stops, he brings up his index finger and says "one".

Years ago Joey was my favorite ref - because he was one of the very few that didn't give the home team a significant edge. His calls were more accurate than most, too. He's always been quick with T's but of late, he's just gotten too volatile and high handed.

I for one am glad that he got suspended. Joey Crawford has the quickest 'T' trigger in the sport, and acts like a petulant baby on the court. He also is very combatitive. A good referee is able to control a game without acting like a bully or a baby. Crawford was unable to accomplish it without being both.

I hated watching him do Laker games, and I was appaled at his actions during the Spurs game this weekend.

Good riddance.

Besides, it's about time Violet Palmer starts getting the prime opportunities she deserves.

My question: Would Crawford have been suspended if the ejected player had been a guy like Pat Burke rather than Duncan?

No way. I don't even think Crawford would have gotten suspended if he did this to Amare. I'm not defending Crawford, but I'm sure Cuban, Popovich and Duncan were all over this so the league had to take action.

I have never cared for Joey Crawford. I just wish it would have been a different player involved in this instance because I can't stand Tim Duncan's crybaby attitude.

An official I disdain as much if not more than Crawford is Steve Javie.

Now this worries me. I would rather take my chances with Crawford.

I thought crawford crossed over the line and deserved to be suspended. We can be happy that it happened to a member of the Spurs. If Amare was tossed from a game while sitting on the bench while laughing we would be furious. When the refs become the game, it is crossing over the line even against the hated Spurs

Suns pregame just said that it may be Joey Crawford's last game ever officiated because he is apparently contemplating retirement because of this incident.

Sweet. I would love to see that. He can take his twin Javie with him.

I got a chuckle out of the ESPN SportsNation poll. One of the questions was "Who would win in a fight between Duncan and Crawford?" Nearly 12 percent said Crawford.

I'd pay to see that one.

It would be interesting. Sissy boy Duncan, (the mere fact that he whined about Crawford challenging him qualifies him as a sissy ), against a little old man. Worse event than the Barkley/ Bavetta footrace. Maybe worse than the Pedro Martinez/ Don Zimmer take down.

Something like Balboa vs. Dixon?

She worked the playoffs last year. She must have good NBA ratings.
I can't even imagine how those ratings work if Palmer is anywhere but the bottom.

The only thing she has going for her is seniority.

And she smells good. I read an article about her recently and she says the players always compliment her on her choice of fragrances. If we draw Violet in the playoffs I hope Amare flatters her silly -- she seems to like calling fouls on him.
