Remember when the Cards put all that faith in Ryan Williams...?
Brown had a couple of good season
Ryan Williams was a injury prone college player, who ran slow at combine but had a great 3cone drill and got drafted too early
A one year wonder at illinois

There was nothing except for one pre season game that said Smoke was back and yet BA and SK went on the belief that he would be a steady contributor. A healthy Dobson or Ross would look a lot better than a injured Brown.

I dig the kid but his health no longer makes him feasible to play professional football and we need JJ taking his reps because they offer the same skill set

Completely disagree. JJ is good for go routes and that's about it. He's very inconsistent at everything else. And he wasn't even close to catching that bomb last week. It was a good throw

I disagree, J.J. Nelson caught five passes by 43 yards and a touchdown in the loss at Detroit. Nelson was targeted six times and his longest reception was for 14 yards, so hardly the product of just go routes... and he was close to catching that bomb (passes I have also seen Brown drop last season too) which made it even more frustrating to watch lol

I guess all I remember him catching was that TD in garbage time. I loved seeing Fitzgerald run a few go routes... even those Palmer kept overthrowing him

Well... this year is shaping up pretty darkly...

my problem with how the year is shaking up is that it seemed so obvious this (and other issues) were going to happen and the team did nothing to combat it, whether it be at the WR slot, Safety, 2nd CB. I mean... think about this... the 2nd CB position last year was really rough and what did we do? Stood completely pat while SLASHING our new starting CB salary in half. And the same could be said about WR, where we didn't have to slash anyone's salary because they were already pretty cheap. All while sitting on 11 million in cap space. I just don't get what they did this year in the off-season. They didn't GO FOR IT and they didn't tear down. They just did basically nothing... except maybe improving STs.

Bottom line... you get what you paid for.

This could've should've been solved by bringing in either Decker, or Maclin. Frustrating because Brown seems like a real good guy that works his ass off but just can't recover fast enough to play in the NFL, feel bad for the kid he was playing good enough football to set himself and family up generational, now probably won't get that big money deal hopefully he has been good with his money to date may be his last big payday, and he may have to figure out how to griind it out like the rest of us.

^at this rate I'll be surprised if he's with us next year. We need to shed all these players who can't stay healthy

I know it seems pretty dark right now, but fear not! We have our QBOTF learning the ropes, and everything will be gravy in a year or so, Smoke and DJ will be healthy.....and make him shine!!!

Oh wait..... That's right, we have Palmer... in what will most likely be his last season..... And good old "Drew "one read" Stanton...... or Blaine "for the love of God, give me two years with the same OC and I'll make you proud!!!" Gabbert.

We're good!

I don't want to jump to conclusions but...

What's our medical, strength and conditioning program like that differs from other NFL teams? What should we be doing differently? Are there any teams who average significantly lower injury rates? What do they do differently? Should we do what they're doing? Is it all a function of the program or do low-injury teams acquire lower-injury players? How quickly can we make changes?

Maybe we're already doing this, but we should be asking these questions regularly if for no other reason than it's "good mgt." There's no time like the present for exercising due-diligance.
