In an interview with Sports Illustrated‘s Robert Klemko last month, Los Angeles Rams cornerback Aqib Talib said the Denver Broncos should “stop firing all the dogs.” Talib was likely referring to players that Broncos general manager John Elway let walk during free agency following the team’s win in Super Bowl 50. Denver lost defenders including T.J. Ward, Malik Jackson and Danny Trevathan — three “dogs.” Earlier this offseason, Elway traded Talib to the Rams in exchange for a fifth-round draft pick.
