Seriously this is the guy some Cardinal fans wanted to hand the franchise over to. I never liked this kid yeah he played great against Alabama but when he went up against the more athletic LSU defense he didn't look so great. The question was is this kid really going to put in the work to be a NFL QB it's a seven day a week job.

On the other hand we have Bucannon who is being told to loosen up because he's trying to hard to be perfect and flawless. The coaches are telling him to relax and just play football. Very happy with our pick.

That's a big question mark, but come on, the dude just became a millionaire and while money is fleeting, he might as well go and celebrate before he puts in the work. Now, if this is Cleveland's bye week, then there may be room for concern.

That being said, I do wonder if this guy will make it and I am extremely happy we did not take him

I feel sorry for the kid, he is under way too much scrutiny from the press. If he spent the weekend at a church gathering, it would probably come out negative from our wonderful media. :bang:

Yea, super glad we don't have Rob Gronkowski either, going to a memorial weekend party has really diminished his play on the field as well.

I do not have a problem with Johnny's character for doing this one bit, but the kid has a bull's eye on him at the moment and all it takes is one skank to make up a story in a place full of them to make his life hell when he does not need it lol

Skanks? Don't be so harsh. Those high school seniors are somebody's daughters.

lol, that's what I was thinking. Dude parties a lot, but he gets his job done. Similar, but not as extreme as Michael Irvin. Dude was a party animal, but an elite WR regardless. Now the question is, can the QB position afford to behave the same. It didn't work out for Matt Leinart or Jamarcus Russell. Could be coincidence, but I can't think of an elite QB with the party animal reputation

I think it's hilarious how this kid gets a pass. I don't remember cardinals fans saying so what he a kid when matt lienart was living it up. Holy crap could you imagine this was Can Newton his rookie year look. This isn't even the first time this month this kind of story has come out. Is not that he does it it's he does it so publicly he putting that giant bulls eye on his chest for media and critics. Browns came out earlier this week and said he's far behind Brian Hoyer and not where he needs to be Noy the smartest move on the part of a rookie.

How do you think this is playing with the vets in the locker room?

And does Gronk even play football anymore? That guy pretty much gets paid to rehab and work out. Yo soy injured list

Shouldnt he have his nose in a playbook? I am glad that we didnt draft him for this very reason. If he has gotten this far with no work ethic that says a lot about his talent level. The problem is that when he gets to this level and his talent alone isnt enough what happens....most people cant magically grow that work ethic over night.

Pisted from my pjone so please excuse any type-o's or misspelings

If this was Romo ESPN would have self-destructed.

If he plays well when the lights go on, no one will remember this. It's truly a non-event being overblown in the offseason.

I bet very, very few NFL players are deep into the playbook this weekend.

Lmao my thoughts exactly. Chill out people, the dude's 21. You guys didn't party at 21?

Most of our fanbase never gave Leinart any slack for being young, so I wouldn't expect any less for JF, who is way less likeable.

Lame. The dude is 21. I'll pass judgement after I watch him play. Plus I'm pretty sure Gronk is still a probowler, even after this. Once again lame.

Is this a red flag on JF? I don't know, but what I will say is that for me personally I would prefer to see a rookie spending his first offseason at the facilities and in his play book and not taking trips to Vegas in between OTAs. Especially when the guy we are talking about is a QB. Seriously guys what would we be saying if this thread was about Logan Thomas and not JF.

Oh you are so wrong when it comes to quarterbacks. That's a completely different animal. Wonder where Mr Manning is right now

NFL players love the UFC fights in Vegas. Fitz and other NFL players often attend UFC 160 matches in Vegas. Players need a break. Manziel was a party animal through college---let's see if he changes now that he is a pro.

If I'd have had his money at 21 I guarantee you I would have been doing MUCH worse that that!

Much ado about nothing me thinks :)
