Oh you are so wrong when it comes to quarterbacks. That's a completely different animal. Wonder where Mr Manning is right now

wonder where Tom Brady is right now? Probably galavanting with his model girlfriend at some incredible party...and last time I checked, Brady's one of the best QBs to ever play the game. Big Ben...huge partier (and idiot), yet is a 2 time champion and warrior on the field. I know people up in the bay area who used to see (and still see in the off-season) Aaron Rodgers partying non-stop and douche-ing around once he became the starter for the Pack and started having success. Hasn't effected his game. Not every QB needs to be Manning.

I'd bet your house he isn't busting his ass on film and the playbook this weekend. Even Peyton Manning isn't some kind of machine that thinks nothing but football 100% of the time.

No crap. Hell, Joe Namath and Ken Stabler both admit they were hungover for some of the biggest games of their career. Of course, in the non-internet age, they were not raked over the coals for it.

Lmao my thoughts exactly. Chill out people, the dude's 21. You guys didn't party at 21?

Nope.

Not saying it is a big deal, but not everyone partied at that age.

As for saying he is celebrating because he came into money...he is already from big money. Nothing new to him, IMHO. :D

He is obviously free to do whatever he wants but this is the way I see it.

Every job that I have had I always tried to make a good impression. Always tried to go the extra mile, especially when I was new. And at a job that is so coveted (there are less than 96 of these jobs and only 32 if you are talking about starters) it would seem to me that he would be doing everything he could to make sure he gets off on the right foot.

Maybe he is thinking that he is pretty much guaranteed a roster spot and is ok with not starting his rookie year. That would mean he gets a year to learn the offense and settle in. Which means there is no urgency to learn the playbook or the offense.

Of course the problem with that is that you never know when you might be called on to play or even start. At the QB position you HAVE to be a leader and the best way to lead is by example. If the fans aren't behind him and the team isn't behind him and he is forced onto the field and is anything less than stellar he has set himself up to be absolutely crucified. And there won't be any coming back from that.

All of the people you have mentioned have had success in the NFL. What has Johnny Football done in the NFL? Oh and Tom Brady was at a charity event this weekend with his wife if that answers your question.

When I heard the report this morning, the first thing that popped into my mind was Matt Leinart. So many similarities between these two. Both were the big man on campus and entered the NFL full of confidence. However as we have seen with Leinart, his entitled attitude and lack of work ethic doomed his career early on. Leinart's claim to fame in the NFL was pool parties with hot young girls.

I see Manziel walking a thin line. He too appears to think he has "arrived". However this is the NFL and he hasn't proven anything yet. If I were the Browns front office, I would be very concerned with the maturity of my supposed franchise QB. Especially if he is hanging with Gronk who is a party animal.

It does and if you've ever been to a huge charity event with famous people you'll know it's basically like a pool party...with people wearing full suits instead of swimsuits. I've been to a couple of them (ah the perks of having friends who work the events and sneak me in!) and people are usually just SHWASTED. The level of douche at those things is usually sky-freaking-high.

I think he's got a MUCH bigger target on his back and chip on his shoulder compared to Leinart and I think that will drive him harder on the field. but only time will tell.

I still think this draft will be remembered for not taking Manziel. Sort of like when we didn't take Adrian Peterson or Terrell Suggs.

I'm not sure that Tom Brady was "shwasted" at his charity auction where he helped to raise $850K in one night. I wonder what Manzeil raised for his Implant awareness crusade this weekend.

But again Tom Brady has nothing to prove in the NFL. He has won multiple superbowls and is the definition of success in this league. I ask you again what has Manzeil done in the NFL? The answer is simple... Absolutely Nothing. If I was a Brown fan this would be a huge red flag for me. The kid had a reputation coming into this league and this report only fans the flames.

Unless of course Bucannon turns out to be really good. The biggest reason why we all wish so badly that we would have taken AP or Suggs in that draft is because Levi didn't live up to his draft position.

Serious question. Have the Cardinals EVER moved down in the first round and ended up drafting a good first rounder?

Suggs wasn't in "that" draft. He was the 203 Draft.
Yeah I was thinking Patrick Willis for some reason. That was one of the other players that we passed on for Levi. We passed on Suggs to trade back and get Bryant Johnson. Then drafted Boldin in the 2nd round to make it back to back WR picks in the first 2 rounds. Definitely a weird draft to say the least.

Psst....we didn't pick Johnson and Boldin back to back.

Even if we did draft a WR in the first and second round lets consider who we had at WR before the draft. Bryan Gilmore, Jason McAddley, Nate Poole, Larry Foster... I know none of those guys were rookies (can't remember if any of them were signed after the draft), but come on. We lost David Boston, Frank Sanders and Rob Moore the previous few seasons. We needed two receivers at least very early in that draft.

This is off topic though :)

That's a big question mark, but come on, the dude just became a millionaire and while money is fleeting, he might as well go and celebrate before he puts in the work. Now, if this is Cleveland's bye week, then there may be room for concern.

That being said, I do wonder if this guy will make it and I am extremely happy we did not take him
hey vegas is better than cabo......

Discussion regarding Manziel hitting Vegas:

http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-network-total-access/0ap2000000353347/Vegas-a-mistake-for-Manziel

I didn't realize that the Browns are in the middle of their OTAs. I thought they were finished. Manziel left for the weekend and will return to practice today. (Compare to Bridgewater's preparation and dedication). This will come back to haunt him---unless he is the reincarnation of Broadway Joe.

dont OTAs happen during the week? Or were teamates physically doing OTA while he was doing shots?

I believe they broke for the 3-day week-end and will resume on Tuesday. The anal-retentive fan would have preferred he stayed in Cleveland and was at the training facility going over the playbook. The party animal fan is envious that he hopped a plane, went to Vegas, attended the fights, etc. and partied with all those high school girls.

Guess there is not much in the playbook that covers mad scrambles and street ball passes

I don't care what he's doing yet, but I am getting tired of that stupid show me the money hand gesture thing he does. I could go the rest of my life without seeing him or anybody standing next to him doing that again.
