After further contemplation I say these QBs in the draft suck rocks, because none of them really carry second round grades if you ask me. I wanted to convince myself due to our impending need at the position but you can't make something out of nothing. With the studs at defense in this draft, it would be totally moronic to go QB early if at all. We have Palmer and Stanton next season and they are not the problem... let's make this defense great and with DJ, if the college game forces us to draft from another crap selection at the position, we can still win :)

I still like Kizer more than Watson. Now granted, I still think both guys are projects and athletes before quarterbacks. Both of them for the most part are one read guys but what I like about Kizer is that his throwing motion is effortless and he is accurate when he settles down in a game... Watson has one of the ugliest throwing motions I ever seen, but it does not have to be pretty if it gets there I guess lol
Ugh :madarms:

When I watch Kizer I see a slightly better Blogan Thomas all over, but hey I loved the Leenart pick also lol

Hell, let's trade for both and call it a victory as long as I can get a jersey with Galatropolis and a photo with AJ's wife in a hot tub without Leinart :)

Allen's size and mobility make you sit up and take notice...but...his sidearm delivery will be a big concern. Yes, Philip Rivers throws practically sidearm---but he's incredibly accurate, whereas Allen is not, at least not yet.

He really should stay at Wyoming for another year or two. He's coached by former ND St. HC Craig Bohl who helped develop Carson Wentz. Allen is a bigger, faster version of Wentz, but needs to hone his throwing mechanics and touch.

The interception he threw versus Boise St. was the result of trying to throw a sidearm pass over the middle and the DT didn't even have to jump to deflect it. In the pros, passes like that will drive coaches crazy.

On the flip side, the TD he threw while flushed to his right to WR Tanner Gentry at the back of the end zone from 25-30 yards was tremendous. Boise had him running at top speed to avoid the pressure and yet Allen managed to spot Gentry, who was barely open and then delivered a perfect strike. As was the clutch 2 point conversion on the backside post to WR Jake Maulhardt to tie the game at 28-28.

By the way, the Wyoming TE Jacob Hollister (6-4, 240, Sr.) really jumped off the tape. Gets open---good speed and feel and excellent hands.

Fwiw, last night I ran into a NY Giants scout at a local restaurant(I had met him over the Summer when I was out with my Jax friend) and asked him about some players. When I asked about the Wyoming QB, he said their regional scout has a FA grade on him.

One of the long time draft gurus, Tony Pauline, likes him. Tony did scout professionally. Too early to put a round grade on him. I watched him play NIU & BYU and he was impressive. Certainly a late round selection if he declares. One of the guys who could interest the Cards. He's really raw and likely couldn't play for a couple of years.

My positon on Allen is if you get to the 7th round and he's still there and you don't have anyone on your board that you feel would have a decent chance to make the final 53 or PS then draft him and see if you can develop him, otherwise don't waste a draft pick on him.
