God what a loser. The Suns got taken for suckers in believing the hype on this guy. I hope they can eventually get some people on their staff who are able to evaluate players with their own eyes, instead of just following the buzz. When you realize they could have had Fox or Markkanen instead of making this blunder, it's just horribly depressing.
I have BEFORE being arrested! When I was a kid I made an escape a couple times! LOL!Sure... but, running from the ops AFTER being handcuffed? Have you done that?
Athletically, and motor wise, he is just as predicted. He was always rated as having to overcome a poor jumper, and his offense was supposed to be way behind his defense. With all the twenty point games he's had, arguably he's ahead of pace offensively, even if he's not consistent.I thought Jackson would be the second best player in the draft behind Ball. Incredibly embarrassing to admit.
We missed out on so many opportunities in that draft. A lot of productive players picked after JJ.
Wow so quick to judge Jackson.
BUT this team doesn't surprise me considering how young and dumb they are. I mean Booker's antics too
I appreciate your team spirit, but generalizations don't solve team problems. Each problem needs to be dealt with and Jackson has been an ongoing problem. It's not that bad, I mean he didn't beat anyone up etc. I hope coach Monty gets the kids together and gets them focused on the team.
It might not have been the right pick, but you can say that about almost every pick we've made when there's a guy or two later in the draft that really made it. There's still a chance Jackson will turn into a really good player for us.
But yeah, people here really love to have a player on the team to pick on. It used to be Bender, so now I guess Jackson is the target. Come on. Try to be positive and optimistic on behalf of twenty year old kids playing for your basketball team. Don't you want them to succeed? It's normal to cheer for everyone on the club where I come from. It's a team sport guys.
Blargh.
As others have posted, would Bridges have tried to escape (while handcuffed), which aggravated the situation? I don't think so.What was he arrested for? I know he's charged with resisting and escaping but that doesn't answer the question of why he was put in handcuffs. It's been said he tried to sneak into a VIP area, I'm not sure how much I believe that but if that truly was what happened, that isn't an event that he should be handcuffed for. I'm not saying he was right to flee, he wasn't, but someone is only charged with "crimes" related to resisting arrest it calls into question what the arrestable offense was and there doesn't seem to be one here. He wasn't charged with trespassing, and that's important here based on the claims he was trying to trespass.
I'll wait until more comes out but I suspect if Bridges was charged with this he wouldn't be condemned like Jackson has so far. I use Bridges as an example because he's closer in age to JJ and isn't a potential star like Booker or Ayton. I'd expect those 2 to be granted more leeway.
All young players are unknowledgeable in the responsibilities of being in the NBA. It is up to management to train them wisely.
The Suns constant turnover of General Managers and Head Coaches, as well as unbalanced rosters in terms of veterans, hasn't
helped in the fine points of player development. Another problem that starts at the top of this lack of foresight on the Suns.

Judgement and common sense seems to be the difference Jackson and other young players.
Especially since Jackson was being given the honor of representing the Suns at the Draft selections party. He let down the team!

The suns are also to blame for Jackson’s lack of development. This will be his 4th head coach in 2 years that’s Fing insane
The lesson to be learned is to never flee in handcuffs.
It is not only embarrassing to the officer involved but it is likely government property as well.
Well, we obviously still don’t know all the details, but whatever “escape” means, it appears he tried it. Dummy.

There's an old saying, "you can't fix stupid" Josh Jackson is the prime example of this and has been since he got here.
He's a moron on and off the court. No amount of coaching can fix him
He was our rep last year when we got the #1 pick and we didn't send him back this year. That pretty much tells you how the team feels about him
