Josh Jackson!

That's right lol. Screw it why not. He's probably the best ball handler on the team.

So what does he do well? Handle the ball, looks like he has great court vision and can make great passes and he's an above average defender.

What he doesn't do well. ANYTHING OFFENSIVE RELATED.

Like Cotton said just give me the 5 best players and I'll make it work

I would prefer Bender. Maybe they can share responsibilities. Jackson brings the ball up, gives it to Bender at the top of the key so he can find a play when the team doesn't run a pick and roll with Ayton and Booker. I would imagine Ariza as the 5th guy on the floor for defense and stretching the floor.

Bender has all the talent in the world but good lord he just has zero confidence in himself. I think Bender is done in the NBA

I think there's a chance he puts it together someday and becomes a solid NBA rotation player. I also think there is very little chance that happens in Phoenix.

If Bender ever wakes up he could run the high post.

Josh Jackson shouldnt even see an NBA floor let alone touch the ball more. Id like to see him guard opposing point guards if he must be on the floor, but he is not a PG...at all...ever

Is this how bad it’s been that ppl are pinning for Jackson and Bender? That’s a rhetorical question btw.

I suggested Bender half joking. I'm not down on Jackson like some are but he's not a PG and playing him there seems pointless to me. If we're willing to throw anyone there, why not someone who shouldn't see the court otherwise.

Bender needs to go to the G League and see if he can regain his confidence and ease into American basketball the right way. Okobo and Melton likewise should spend time in the G League to ease into American basketball and competitive organized basketball, respectively, the right way. Harrison should be cut.

Barring a trade for a point guard, play Anderson/Warren/Jackson at power forward, Ayton/Chandler/Holmes at center, Ariza/Warren/Jackson/Bridges at small forward, Booker/Daniels/Bridges at shooting guard, sign two of Mario Chalmers, Shane Larkin and Ramon Sessions to rotate with Isaiah Canaan at the point, and call it a day.

Shane Larkin is a turd sandwich that would not stand out in our PG rotation. Ramon Sessions is beat up and couldn't stay healthy for 50 games and even if he did, he's not a good distributor. He's always been an undersized combo guard and not a true PG. Chalmers is the only NBA PG you listed but he hasn't been NBA quality for 2 or 3 years. Even when he was, he was similar to Harrison on a good day. Primarily a defensive PG that didn't lose you games but also didn't win either. He could knock down 3's but he handed playmaking off to Wade and Lebron when he played at his best and a distributor who was the team's 3rd option as a distributor would not solve our problem, even in his prime.

Knowing you want those 3 to replace what we have, I think your complaining about our lack of an NBA quality PG is just a bias against youngsters. At this point I don't think you have seen enough of any our PG's to form a real opinion on them but it's also possible you haven't seen more than 1 or 2 games a year from those 3 either. Part of the reason you hadn't seen more than a game or two from them is they haven't stayed in the NBA long enough in a few seasons. Larkin is the only one who has and he sucks out loud. None are upgrades to our PG rotation, not at this stage and it's arguable if any of them were ever better than what we have now. Canaan is better than all 3 though, I can say that with certainty based on last season's play alone.

I'm not saying any of those three are particularly good, but they have far more ability than Harrison, particularly as facilitators, and they are far more NBA ready than Okobo and Melton. I am thinking about the long term futures of Okobo and Melton, as well as the short term stability of the team here.

My preference is still to trade for someone better than Chalmers, Larkin and Sessions, but my point is that even without a trade, there are options out there that are better that gifting Shaquill Harrison a roster spot and playing time he doesn't deserve or throwing Okobo and Melton into the NBA fire when they are about as ready for it as Dragan Bender was when he was thrown into the NBA fire.

Kokoskov has professes that barring a trade for a legitimate NBA starting point guard, his plan is to play "2 1/2" point guards by committee. Right now, we only have the 1/2 (Canaan) on the roster.

Hell, after vomiting a few times, I think I'd take Jason Terry or Ronnie Price over those 3 guys.

In my opinion, they likewise would be better for the short term stability of the team and for the long term development of Okobo and Melton than gifting Harrison a roster spot and playing time he doesn't deserve and throwing Okobo and Melton into the NBA fire well before they are ready.

Our best playmaker is Booker, but he's not a natural PG. Crossing my fingers that Okobo develops but if we get another top 10 pick in the draft, we should lean heavily toward one of the top PG's in the draft unless the talent isn't there at where we're picking.

Next year's draft is very weak for point guards. Arguably the highest rated point guard prospect is Jaylen Hands, who isn't all that much better than Okobo or Melton. After that you're looking at so-so projects like Darius Garland, Carsen Edwards, Ky Bowman and Lindell Wigginton. The solution at point guard is most definitely not in next year's draft.

Ironically, where next year's draft is deepest is at wing, which we don't need.

Unless we get the #1 overall pick to select Zion Williamson to fill our hole at power forward, we really have no use for draft picks next year other than to trade them for a point guard.

I can most definitely say that none of us can possibly know whether the solution for point guard is in next year's class. It's far too early for anyone to say that.

Yeah...It definitely looks like a down year for point guards heading into the season; there's no question about that. But three point guards went top 11 last year, and only one of them was considered a lottery prospect by anyone at this time last year.

Yeah, I think it's important to remember how often the so called experts are wrong come draft day. So if they get it that wrong once they actually know a lot about the players, just think how wrong they can be before most of the potential draft picks have even suited up for a college game.

Supposedly we have a decent FA class of PGs. I know this year's FA PG class was weak.

I'd call Philly and offer a 2nd round pick for T.J. McConnell. While not a sexy name, he's a very solid PG and leader who's stuck behind Simmons and Fultz. He's also indicated that he's likely not returning to Philly after this season.

Low risk, potential high reward transaction, IMO.

I don't think he's the long term answer as a starter but he'd be a nice short time solution and a great backup afterwards. I think we'd all be thrilled to get him for a 2nd rounder but I doubt that Philly would make the deal.
