Last season, somehow, is still going on. Won't be a problem for JJ for next season.

"He tweaked his foot, and so rather than having him walk around, to protect him, we put him in a temporary soft cast, which is easier to deal with than the strap-foot boot," General Manager James Jones said.

"So it's kind of over-protective to make sure it calms down over the next two days, but it's just something that's really minimal swelling."

Jones said the injury occurred Friday at the facility, and it was not related to Jackson’s arrest earlier this month in Miami. Jackson was arrested on suspicion of resisting arrest and escape.

Id consider straight cutting this guy. If we were honest with ourselves, draft position aside, hes just not good and doesnt have NBA mindset and work ethic to work on his craft...

When he has had any semblance of proper coaching (Self in college and Triano in the second half of his rookie season), he has been spectacular. Let's see what happens with an actual capable coach in Monty first.

'Makes sense. Unless he can bring us a needed Point Guard or Power Forward in a trade.

P.S.: Having just posted that, we can't discount that he is a flake, brings us negative
publicity and is inconsistent.

So, regarding my first sentence. Never mind! :)

He averaged 13.3 ppg in March & April of last season while shooting 41% from 3 to go with 2.3 assists, 1 block, and 5.8 rebounds in 28 minutes a game. He played in 17 games and only 4 of those were starts.

I know he started last season pretty bad but he definitely turned it on in the 2nd half. Hopefully he can be more consistent going forward but he definitely works on his game and has NBA level talent.

Booker hurt his hand last offseason. There was also video that came out of Booker running after some guy who beat up Ulis, should we have cut him for that? His injury and the fight weren't related but neither is JJ's injury and his arrest. The team is young and JJ isn't the first to get in trouble and he wasn't the last either since Holmes got busted driving around with pot 2-3 weeks after JJ's ordeal. Being young, they do stupid stuff. All we can do is hope they learn from their mistakes and not repeat them. Cutting him would be a huge mistake.

Im with you he does have some flashes for periods of time. Every player has flashes if you look at split stats, lets look at alan williams, tyler ullis, alex len etc. they all look good in short sperts. id also argue his turnovers outweigh a lot of good he does, as well as bad free throw shooting. Theyre also so bad the only thing the defense cares about is Book. His off the court stuff brings bad example too. The shots he makes too are not sustainable, theyre bad shots. His bball IQ is as bad as possible. He scores cuz hes running 200mph and the defense doesnt even know who he is.

Who says No to hypothetical trade with Knicks... JJ and #6 pick for future #1 and 2 out of the following - Dennis Smith Jr, Frank Nitilikina and Alonzo Trier

We get to move on from JJ and recoup a young point guard that has potential. Trier looks like a good 6th man and is from AZ. Future #1 may offer a better/deeper draft since it's unlikely there will be a good point guard available when we pick at 6.

Knicks are likely getting Kyrie so may not need Dennis Smith Jr if so... They have 7 1st round picks in the next 5 years. JJ may do well with a fresh start somewhere else...

If the Knicks land free agents that future pick will be in the 20s.
