Is it always just a cost issue?

I was actually thinking it might be a mentality thing. A closer is a better closer than a starter because maybe closers are better equipped for the pressure.

Cost and availability issues. There just aren't that many good pitchers out there.

Even the best teams in baseball don't always have five great starters let alone bullpen arms that would be able to start on other teams.

Ain't this the truth. HOU who has best record in ML have Keuchel & McCullers and the rest of the rotation is mediocre at best. There pen is top notch though with 2 former D'backs (Sipp & Harris) having good years. HOU offense is pretty strong as well.

Thats why I dont understand offloading. We are having a bad year, get rid of Greinke.....well, now thats 1 less good pitcher youll have next year.

I think we can all agree that the current losing streak is a direct result of this thread. We should hold @Dback Jon personally responsible and the mods should come up with some sort of penalty.
