Fassel bombed in his interview in Buffalo. Late yesterday Fassel called AZ and wanted to get in the mix....but they were too far down the road with Green and had chose him instead. The cardinals cancelled their trip back east at about 6:00 PM last night (they were going to meet with Fassel).

In my opinion.....Fassel should have shown a little more enthusiasm in his interviews..I think a week ago he thought he could have any job he wanted......


Fassel is kind of low key and he was at a disadvantage because he coached a team until the end of the season and had little time for homework...he could very easily be left out of the mix.

In that case he could make a great OC for the Cardinals!

But yeah, I know... not gonna happen.

cardlogic: I think if he sits out he gets like $2.6 million from the giants...that is if he is not employed by the NFL (he can go work for ESPN). So...for that reason alone I would guess if he is not a head coach next year he will sit...go do tv or something...

all 3 coaches who have been hired so far were out of football the last season or two (joe gibbs for 11)...so perhaps it is good to sit out a year or two..seems to work.

I would expect Fassel to work as OC for the Ravens this season if he can't find a head coaching job this late in the game.

It's also not too late for Fassel to get in the game in Chicago or even Oakland. I think he'll find a job somewhere. He's too good to stay out of the game for long.

bummer. As happy as I am with Green, I would have preferred Fassel.

Funny thing...

In past years, we would have waffled around and lost both HC prospects.

This year, Rod and Michael acted quickly, we locked up one of the two guys we wanted, but unfortunately had to leave the other good guy in the lurch.
