is not calling all the plays anymore. It's being done by committee now. Geep Chryst and Sullivan are the committee.

O lord, please tell me this isn't true. What we'll get is grab bag mediocrity.

This is not the time for OJT. The guy dialing up the plays has to KNOW what will or won't work and have an answer in the form of an adjustment for anything the defense might throw at him.

I saw absolutely nothing from us yesterday designed to seize the initiative and put the other team on its heels.

It was more run something simple or throw something short on first down and then we'll see where we are (which more often than not was 2nd & 8+).

On either side of the ball - when our guys are "hoping" that it will work rather than "knowing that it will work, we're in trouble.

(Note - I've never been a Geep fan; and I think Sully - though he might eventually get there - is still learning on the job. Based on his reputation, I wish we'd turn the play calling exclusively over to Marty Galbraith and then get out of his way).

Upside: They do a "Playcalling by Committee" approach in Dallas, with Sean Payton, their OC, and Parcells having say.

Downside: Parcells has the final say. Why we went into the season with essentially no one who has any experience running an NFL defense is beyond me.

At least now no one will be able to be held accountable. How long will it be until Jeff Blake is drawing up plays by himself in the sand and trying to snap the ball within the 25 second playclock?

They showed Geep during the game and he was talking like a chatter box on the sidelines. I didn't think the QB coach had much to say during a game.

I saw in training camp that Jerry Sullivan was ALWAYS with the receivers. I was like, he's the new OC and he's still teaching the receivers?
Now i don't know what was going on inside the meeting rooms but...

hmmmmm:!:

Some might argue that mediocrity would actually be progress for this offense this year.

This report sucks. If true, they should've let Sully quit and given the reins to Chryst.

This is what happens when you have a WR coach who is also a quitter running your offense. This guy turned the job down, then changed his mind. Then when he figured out he was in over his head he handed in his resignation, only to be talked out of it by Mac. Our offense is being run by a guy who doesn't really want the job, and now he is handing off responsibility to Geep as well. It's to bad for Sully he didn't go to Dallas with Parcells as a WR coach. He would have had 3 talented WR's to work with. They would be singing his praises in Big D. Here he is stuck with a struggling offense and his star pupil Brian Gilmore. I think the wheels have officially fallen off. Damn Cheesy, The Darkside has engulfed me.

it's okay Harpo - just take comfort in knowing that in seven weeks, we will never have to see anyone on this staff coach a single play for the Cards ever again.

man conrad - the more I read from you the more I think you are the best poster on this board - your last two posts have been asbolute legendary commentary on Coach Mac and his boys. You're killing me, absolutely killing me. PREACH ON - you do it with much better humor than I do.

Maybe that is why Blake kept on screaming at the sidelines during the game in frustration... Maybe Blake didn't like the play calling..

This should be about as successful as the Cubs commitee of Head Coaches some years ago.

Noticed a comment in todays EV Tribune that Mac "adamently denied the rumors of playcalling by committee. So where did Jurecki get this stuff?
