Laughing-stock. Pathetic. Wasn't too long ago that those "ugly" words were used to describe our team. They hung around our necks--players & fans alike--like a dead albatross. But now--NOW--those "words" are ONLY being used in the past-tense. A reference to the way things "used" to be. Things have changed. Now, we're daily putting together the "puzzle-pieces" of a successful team. To me, just the fact, that we're actively doing something about our RB situation( ie; Considering T. Henry) is refreshing in itself. Now, It'd be real easy to get on the "SuperBowl or Bust" wagon--and obviously that's the ultimate "goal"--but for now, hey, I'm just enjoyin' the ride. No longer laughed at, or ridiculed, and all the other crap that came with being a Cardinals' fan for the past 37+ years. ...And I believe the BEST is coming soon. GO CARDS!!

Other NFL fans and writers are still mocking us. The Cards have 5o years of ineptitude to overcome and there aren't too many people who think we made strides to improve last year. Dennis Green was a major upgrade in the coaching department, our offseasons have become something to look forward to and we no longer have to cringe or hold our breath when we are on the clock.

As Cardinal fans we will have to wait until week 8 of the season before any of the Gameday analysts are able to say "look out for the Cardinals" without cracking up.

Every year I have hope that "this will be our year", only to be crushed by midseason. This year is different, I no longer have hope I have confidence.

18-1 to win the NFC West is a bet I would make, and I only gamble on fantasy football.

Sorry Bird of War but the Cardinals don't have 50 years of ineptitude. Maybe the last 20 or so. But as a lifelong Cardinal fan I have to tell you that in the 60's and for most of the 70's the Cardinals were very competitive. During the 60's Jim Brown and the Browns kept us from several championships and everyone on here knows about the Coryell years. Sorry if I seem a little touchy but I bleed Cardinal red and have to keep the record straight.

Whoa. I was half sloshed when I placed the bets. Now that I looked at my slips, it was only 18-1 for the NFC and 45-1 for the Super bowl.

Those were at The Rio. I should have tried downtown.
