I like him but he is 77 years old. Maybe bring him on as a special defense assistant like we use both Tom Moore and Tom Pratt.

So does Keith Butler finally get the Steelers defensive coordinator job? I remember Whiz wanting to hire him a couple of times.

“I’m resigning this position, not retiring,” LeBeau said told the Daily Citizen. “I had a great run in Pittsburgh. I’m grateful for all the things that have happened to me and thankful for all the support I had in Pittsburgh. . . . It’s just time to make a break.

I wouldn't think so, IF Bowles gets HC opportunity they have someone in mind. RT @jasonmredman: Hmmm, possible replacement for Bowles

On the radio a while back Jurecki mentioned that the cardinals would hire from outside of the organization if Bowles left. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

We would have the oldest coaching staff ever if he came here. BA, Moore, DL? Proof that everyone retires to AZ. lol

Hmm interesting, if Bowles does leave LeBeau is a real possibilty if not as DC as an assistant definately.

LeBeau is a legend. He didn't invent the zone blitz scheme but he refined it and had the most success with it. He's been probably the most consistent DC in recent history.

He is old, 77, but he won't be suiting up and playing on Sundays. He is loved by his players and has developed quality coaches. He does have a good relationship with Arians.

If Bowles lands a HC job, LeBeau could be an option, but, the defense he runs is different than the defense we've been running. Changing back to a 2 gap system may not sit well with some of our D-line. Particularly Dockett. Stinson and Kareem Martin may not be built for a 2 gap system.

I think the Cards would rather stick with someone from the Parcell's tree who is adept at the 1 gap attacking system.

That being said, LeBeau is regarded as a good talent evaluator and has produced solid LB corps through the years. I don't mind the idea of bring him on board as a consultant to help improve the defensive talent, particularly our stable of LB's.

I would love to see BA approach LeBeau about coming onto the Cards staff. He would be a great fit for the other oldsters who work so masterfully with today's players, and who each have the respect for each other AND the players. Whether or not Bowles stays, LeBeau would be a great addition to this coaching staff. Tons of knowledge, and tons of respect to add to one of the most respected coaching staffs ever in the NFL. Can you imagine the in-game adjustments, and the in-game teaching that could go on during games here????? He would be a perfect fit.

I would mark out like a school girl if we got LeBeau.

I think Dick Vermeil had one of the oldest staffs ever when he was on St.Louis. That worked out alright. LeBeau would be undoubtedly the #1 choice in my mind.

Excellent post!

I wonder if LeBeau would be amenable to modifying his system in order to maintain continuity in AZ.
