I'm of the belief that SK should get partial credit or partial blame for any draft pick prior to becoming GM. Ultimately all that matters though is what he does from the time he took the GM position.

The problem with giving him any credit or blame for any draft picks or free agent signings before he became GM is that we have no idea where it was his idea to make the pick, where he got overruled and what he would have done in a given situation. I've heard the rumor that he was pushing for AP over Levi, but we don't really know what was going on behind the scenes. One person who does know what was going on was the person who hired him to be the GM, so I am going to assume that he was on more than off in those players he was pushing for us to get.

Every team hits and misses on draft choices. So far, the 2013 draft looks promising.

The biggest sin of the Graves/Whisenhunt era IMO was over-paying for mediocre or worse veteran offensive linemen and not addressing the position in the draft.

And, of course, not adequately replacing Kurt Warner after he retired.

Graves had a habit of gambling on injury prone players in the draft, trade, or through free agency. I am thinking of Ryan Williams, Beanie, and Kolb.

Exactly and your point basically means you can only have 1 of 2 mindsets. Either you give him no credit/blame for picks prior (clean slate) or you give him a small amount of credit/blame for being a part of the FO that made those calls. I don't think either mindset is wrong personally.

Yep, gotta give him credit for hitting on Bethel.

To think Rugby wasn't sure if Bethel would even make the roster this year. :D

:D

True but I pimped the hell out of him during his draft year.

You never know with new regimes, sometimes they just want their guys, ala Yeremiah Bell and Adrian Wilson.

As for Bethel playing on defence, I thought he looked best playing CB, IMO

I was hoping he would stay at Safety because of his speed. With TJ & TM coming on I think the right call is at CB where speed is also an asset.

I'd rather see him earn a spot at safety. I'm not too enamored of Bell or Johnson. But notice I said "earn" a spot. I'm not sure he's ready for it yet.
