The Kansas City Chiefs are reinforcing their defensive line by bringing back a player who could play a more significant role in the 2025 season.

According to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, the Chiefs are re-signing defensive lineman Marlon Tuipulotu to a new deal. The veteran defensive tackle appeared in two games last season for Kansas City, with most of his tenure inactive after being scooped up by the Chiefs when the Philadelphia Eagles released him at the end of training camp. The former USC standout could see more playing time following the departure of Derrick Nnadi last weekend to the New York Jets.

The 25-year-old spent the first three seasons of his NFL career with the Eagles after they selected him in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL Draft. His best statistical season was in 2023, as he played in 14 games and tallied two sacks and 22 combined tackles. The Chiefs will need a player to replace Nnadi's production either alongside All-Pro Chris Jones or in relief under Steve Spagnuolo's defense.
