A poll on whether Cardinals should re-sign Karlos. It is something I thought about during the game.

I like Dansby and would love to see him retire as a Cardinal. He provides veteran leadership and with D-Wash back really gives us an outstanding inside lb tandem.

A quote from LOS a couple of weeks ago was that he has taken plenty and now it's his turn to give back, this was in regards to $$$$.

He's having fun so get it done now before the Cards start losing again.

Dansby is not shy about wanting to get paid. He took the one year deal here knowing he would start and show case his talents and when it is all said and done I don't think we can or are willing to pay what he wants. I wouldn't be surprised if he is after a 4 year $20-$25 million deal.

I thought Dansby signed a 2 year deal

He's on a one year deal worth 2.25mil

If he wants a 4 year deal I'd say pass. He's 31, he's going to want to be paid for the production of recently. I doubt he'll put up the same numbers at 35

My feeling is definintely, but my vote is probably, because as always, it will come down to how much $$$.

I say probably yes. He is 31 and already lost a step. Not much more then another 1 year deal or 2 with the last being a team option.

If he'd take a 2 year 4 or 5 mill deal than I say lock that dude up like he stole something. Especially since the dude already has stacks on stacks on stacks, that means we can pay him whenever it is good for our Kangol room.

Agreed! Sadly with all the dead money the Cardinals probably can't afford any more than that.

Did you miss Cardiac's post? That Dansby said he's taken plenty and now wants to give back? Until I see otherwise I'm inclined to believe Dansby.

I'd say he's worth 2 years/8 million. Not much more than that, we did just draft a MLB. I vaguely remember some talk about him playing OLB with so many guys out, but I haven't heard anything since, so it may have just been someone here.

I read it just fine and I also read all the quotes after we franchised him multiple time about how honored he felt and how he wanted to stay a Cardinal. In the end he took the bigger paycheck and not even buy much. He can say all the right things, but at the end of the day he is about the paycheck and that is why he came back on a one year deal. He knew he would start and showcase his talents for a bigger payday. I hope he proves me wrong because I have always been a fan and would love to keep him for another three years, but I believe he will chase one last decent to big paycheck.

All possible, he may have been just referring to this years deal and expects more in the future. Thing is he is having a blast and I truly get the sense he loves it here.

I don't know that a lot of teams will be courting him at his age and throwing tons of money at him.

Agree on all account and the fact that a lot of teams were not throwing money at him is the exact reason he took this one year deal. He is on his way to an All Pro season and at that point who knows what will happen. Also, he could have said that as a hint to the Cardinals to start taking extension if they are interested.

I have a sinking feeling that the Cards won't extend him.

SK has a 2nd rd pick invested in Minter.

SK is on record saying he would rather lose a player a year early then a year or two late.

CAP is already pretty tight for next year and the draft won't take care of LT & OLBer & TE & QB.

I think they will attempt to on the cheap, but won't happen due to what others may offer.

I am thinking that it really depends on what kind of contract Dansby wants. Hopefully, Minter gets some playing time this year...

Dansby might have said things like that but I sure don't remember seeing them.

"I'm kind of disappointed we couldn't come to an agreement," Dansby told The Associated Press. "The Cardinals had a business decision to make and they made it and we'll have to live with it."

The inside story was that Dansby wanted to be courted as a free agent. He was and took the big money from Miami. He's older now and been there done that so I tend to believe what he says now.

Dansby says he’s optimistic he will reach a long-term agreement with the Cardinals down the road.

“I think the Cardinals want me here, I want to be here,” Dansby said.

I think you missed that part of the quote.

http://www.mkrob.com/cardinals-lb-dansby-to-wear-franchise-tag-for-second-straight-year/

Are far as the quote I mentioned, it was on the radio, so not sure you can find that one usless you want to go through Bickley and MJ interviews from 2008.

Guess we will just have to agree to disagree.

I worked with people who did some peewee football stuff with dansy and lutui back in the day and they said he makes it obvious hes after money and going to whomever will pay him the most.

Sure, things could be different now though.

Expecting anything other than a mercenary mentality out of a football players is expecting too much though. I would do the same thing.
