“Not at the moment,” Dansby said. “Hopefully pretty soon. I thought we’d [have] at least discussed something, started to put something on paper, but we haven’t done anything yet. We don’t have long. We’ve only got a couple of weeks, man, to get everybody situated.”

Heres the link

The pressure is on, Graves!

I don't believe that that's a quote directly from Karlos. That's 4 sentences in a row without a 'you know what i'm saying' or a 'like i said'. Couldn't be from Dansby himself..... ;)

Guaranteed to Happen...

There are going to be a number of outrageous rumors about guys leaving.

A few, no doubt, will in fact, surprise us and leave.

Others, no doubt, will surprise us and stay.

There will be rumors that we're about to sign high profile free agents/

A few outside FA's will surprise us and sign.

Others will disappoint us and continue on their "Annual 'Test the Waters' Tour of the US."

Whatever the case, there will be lots of posturing as part of the negotiating process; lots of leaking and plenty of (inaccurate) between-the-lines prognostication. It happens every year. And - given our new-found notoriety as a fb team - more of this stuff will hit the sports pages.

There isn't much we can do about it except wait for things to happen. We'd all be well-advised to take all of these rumors in good stride, put away the Maalox, chillax and wait for real information to start filtering in.

It would really suck if we go into the draft needing both OLB AND ILB

I was surprised to read in the east valley tribune yesterday that Dansby was "likely" to be tagged again if a deal couldn't be worked out before that deadline. The deadline for tagging is just two weeks from now, I think.

I feel like Dansby is posturing. I bet he holds out until free agency and takes a fat paycheck elsewhere.

He is a guy we much need so why not make our offer and put it out there NOW. Nothing to be gained by waiting as Dansby will be in high demand. The pressure is on us not him. He is going to get a good contract either with us or someone else. Let us take our best shot now as the longer this drags on the less chance we have of keeping him. There is no reason we should not have all the people we want to keep picked out and have budgeted what we can pay them. This should have been done weeks ago. He is without a doubt a key player on this team.

Pace did not deserve the money he got but Dansby is everything Pace is not and I would not be surprise if the Cardinals do give Dansby that kind of money now. Pace getting that kind of money was plain insanity but for Karlos that makes sense.

Pace had a fairly good year. 80 tackles, 7 Sacks and 5 Forced Fumbles.

All of those numbers were put up in the game against the Cardinals.

I've never been that big of a Dansby fan, the problem is finding his replacment, look he's good, but he's not NEARLY as good as he makes himself out to be.

I'd seriously consider letting him go but only if you can replace the guy with something reasonable, and if it's a lot cheaper and still reasonable that's ok too, depending on what you think you can draft.

There are certain players you overpay and then there are those you don't and that call is THE difference between winning and not in the NFL.

I hate being hostage to a guy like Dansby because we have no choice that just stinks to have to overpay a guy because the dropoff is too steep to take but that may happen.

Anyone who follows baseball knows this offseason was hard on some guys looking to get paid. There are two weeks before spring training and there are several stars on the market.

I wonder if the NFL will feel the crunch too?
