Good timing. The Cardinals just lost their projected kick returner for the season, and Scobey's been cut. Kasper's a journeyman wideout, sure, but he's an experienced--and effective, when healthy--KR.

It'll never happen, but it wouldn't be the dumbest thing the Cards have done.

Some of us always liked the guy and felt he did well as our return guy

Which begs the question - Why, then, does he keep getting released from various teams? There has to be a reason. (Maybe the bleach)?

No, my friend, that list is long and distinguished.

Bringing Kasper back wouldn't be a bad idea, but I've really liked the speed out of that 170 lb receiver we have. Kid goes down off one hit, yeah, but if he gets some open lanes to run through he'll fly off the field.

I was just thinking the same thing Jeff. I thougth Kasper did a good job for us while he was here, but it's hard to understand how he can't catch on with a team and stay with them.

Jeff:

My take is, teams have either picked up Kevin Kasper as a short-term replacement or camp body (Seahawks, Patriots, Texans) or as a potential keeper (Denver, who drafted him, and the Cardinals). When the Broncos and Cards put him out on the field with any regularity, he got hurt. I still think that, if Kasper could connect with a team needing a steady KR and #4-6 WR and stay healthy, he could play in this league.

But players only get so many chances, and Kasper's had more than most. I'm thinking that after the Texans release you in preseason, the ride's almost over.

Yeah, but those were the days when we actually played Jake Soliday in a regular season game.
