If the Cards win this game they will be 2-3 and can climb back into it. If they lose they're 1-4 and i think the season goes in the tank. This is a very winnable game as KC is, to me, being way overrated by a home win against SF. They're a great home team and a below average roads and are going on the road with a backup QB. It's also very losable because the Cards aren't playing well and we really don't know what we'll get from Leinart.

If the Cards win: they gain confidence and believe in Leinart. They have the Bears coming in on Monday night and ,as you know, anything can happen on a Monday night game. An old betting adage is bet the home team on Monday night. Even if the Bears beat them they have the easiest road trip in the NFL this year by going to Oakland and Green Bay. They can easily be 5-3 or 4-4 at the bye week and have 2 home games coming out of the bye.

If the Cards lose: i think they implode and being 1-4 will be a tough hole to dig out of with the Bears coming in to, realistically, make it 1-5. I think they would the go on the road and split at best and go into the break 1-7 or 2-6. If that's the case the season is definitely over. Green is on his way out and the team is in total dissarray. At 1-7, Green could even be let go in season.

I predict the Cards rally behind Leinart and pull off a win this week with the season hanging in the balance.

With all respect. THe Chiefs need this game ...BAD! THis would put us at 2-2 and with San Diego takin on Pittsburg and Denver taking on Baltimore It could leave us in a three way tie in the division. Plus we have to go on the road to Pittsburgh next week. We really need this one.

It all depends on how the team responds to what has gone last couple of weeks... if they have enough resolve and if some of the guys have not already quietly given up... we have enough talent, darn it...

I think that the crowd is going to be at fever pitch for this game because of Leinart. Personally, I am looking forward to this game more than either one of the previous games and expect us to be very loud (I am bringing my 9 year old for this purpose - he's a very loud kid  ).

Both sides of the ball should be energized for this. There is a lot of pride involved with this game and KC will be hard put to match the Cards intensity. I feel that we will win this game, with same amount of conviction I had last week that we would lose the ATL game.

No disrespect to the Chiefs fans who have been on the site the past week, but we are the better team. We just haven't acted like it.

I hope you're right but KC isn't going to be the same as in the past, they're ferocious hitters now, they play defense and that's not good with a rookie QB going against veteran corners it spells trouble.

We don't really have any idea how good or bad KC's defense is. They've only played 1 good offensive team all year and Cincy put 23 on them at KC in Palmers' first game back. SF and Denver exactly been offensive juggernauts this year. But neither has our offense, so far.

I 'm from Missouri and the one thing the Chiefs do not have this week is refs that wear Chief shirts under the stripes. You will not look good this week arrowhead people cause your in the Cardinals Nest.

I was just looking and ,IF, the Cards can get to the bye week 4-4(or 5-3) they come back against Dallas and the schedule maker did them a huge favor. The Cards come off a bye and they get the Cowboys on the 3rd game of a 3 week road trip in a game sandwiched between Washington and Indianapolis. Talk about upset special :clapping: . Then we have Detoit at home. You're staring 6-4 right in the face if they pull this week's game off.

4-4? 5-3? That's two back-to-back road wins. I dont see this happening, no way, no how. I dont care who we play.

We will beat both Oakland and Green Bay on the road....IF we win this KC game. More than anything, this is a confidence game on Sunday...if we win it, we will rally around Matt and win the two road games before the bye. If we lose it terribly, we may just be packing up the season.

Your forgetting next weak is the Bears Monday night, I have a feeling that game will get ugly, going 1 and 5 will nake this team tank straight to a top 5 Draft pick again.

The plus side is that this is a game in which Denny will not be out-coached. With the Jets, Herm was a horrible, horrible, horrible game-day coach. Bad clock management, bad in-game adjustments. Look at the talent that those New York teams had during Edwards' tenure, and what they managed to do with it, and you just have to shake your head.

The 49ers stink, and I think that the Arrowhead advantage really lifted that team, as well as a bunch of untimely turnovers by Frank Gore, who quickly turned back into a pumpkin.

This game is going to hinge on whether or not the Cardinals can bottle up Larry Johnson. If they can keep him under 4 yards per carry in the first quarter, he'll emotionally unravel. This is one of the first games where our cornerbacks are not going to be clearly overmatched, and Bertrand Berry has an inferior offensive tackle to rush against. Smart offenses can take advantage of Edwards' overly aggressive defensive schemes.

This is a winnable game and we have a quarterback in Matt Leinart for whom--for the first time in maybe the past 8 years--losing is simply not an option. He will not allow this team to self-destruct.

Gore only fumbled once. He has a fumble in every game so far which is a problem but it's not like something weird happened in that game. There is no pumpkin on him. He's the number two scoring fantasy back thus far, and he's currently playing nicked up.

The reason the Niners lost that game to the chiefs was because of Alex Smith looking like an idiot when being pressured. He looked terrible. TERRIBLE. Even with no experience, Leinart won't look that bad.

First, props on the Veronica Mars avatar. Most underrated hottie on television.

Second, Gore is very much turning into a pumpkin. Maybe it's because the offensive line's starting to show up because of injuries, or that teams are seeing film of the 49ers "new" offense now that McCarthy's in Green Bay. But the fact of the matter is that Gore got fat off of the first two weeks of the season, and in the last two games, against a Philly team that habitually stinks at stopping the run and a Chiefs team with no defensive tackles to speak of, he's averaged 3.9 YPC and scored 0 TDs. He was great against Arizona and had a Marcel Shipp-like performance agains the Rams, but it sure seems like he's starting to wear down, which had to be a real concern when they let Kevan Barlow go.

My advice: pick up Michael Robinson on your fantasy team.

:)

He got hurt in the Eagles game and had to leave with ribs, that are still bothering him. Two of those fumbles were on the goal line (which is the biggest frustration right now with him, but he'll fix it). He's still putting up 10 fantasy points a game because he's also used in the passing game.

The dude is a flat out stud...always has been. Not very bright, but a great runner.

Don't look now, but those are the exact same thing that happened with Marcel Shipp. Had a couple good games in a row, then started getting banged up and putting up sub-4.0 YPC games.

It is hillarious that you think Green is going to outcoach Edwards. Edwards has turned our once terrible defense into one that is to be feared. You will see what I mean after the game.

I agree with the clock management thing, but Edwards is a great coach. His gameplan has been exactly what we needed this season.

For example, in Denver, KC should have been blown out. But thank to edwards scheme that he chose on both offense and defense, the game was close the whole way, even with our backup QB in. The only thing that cost us was a few fumbles. Those weren't Edwards fault. If KC wins that coin toss in overtime, they win that game.

If it wasn't for a few fumbles, we would be 4 - 0.

Edwards have never outcoached anyone, ever. You saying that it was Edwards that kept that game in-hand is pretty hilarious to me.

I watched that game, and it was Jake Plummer being an utter joke that kept that game close, and had nothing to do with anything the Chiefs had planned out. It takes a real offensive mastermind to run your Pro Bowler 27 times into the line as long as the game was still close.

I don't think that Denny will out-coach Edwards in a man-among-boys kind of way, but I think that if this game comes down to the fourth quarter, I fully expect Edwards to fold first, like he did every time it was possible in New York.

If Edwards was such a great coach, why did he do so little with so much with the Jets? Pennington when he was the passing champ, Santana Moss, Laverneus Coles, a Hall of Fame running back in his prime, John Abraham, etc. , etc.? Did you just not watch those games? Don't you think that's a little strange?

The more I think about it we are gonna win convincingly this weekend! The cheifs beat a terrible niner team who repeatedly shot themselves in the foot and gave them short fields all day. The cards are fired up and embarrased with all the press this week! Think we are gonna come out and kick some tail at home I will be there to cheer on the big WIN!!!!
