Here is a 2 for 1. Not only will you get the Rod Graves segment, but you will also get Emmitt Smith's presser live at the link below. Remember, the webcast starts Thursday, March 13 at 9am and lasts until 1pm AZ time.

Emmitt's presser is scheduled for 11am and Rod Graves is scheduled for 12:05pm. Times are subject to change. The webcast will be archived if you miss either of the interviews, so you can listen at a later time using the same link.

I am off to Jacksonville, FL tomorrow and will not return until Monday. There should be no problems with the webcast. Yahoo Broadcast is up to speed on everything.

Here is the link:

http://playlist.yahoo.com/makeplaylist.dll?id=1173810&segment=104226

Remember, the link will not be active until 9am on Thursday, March 13th.

Thanks!

It should be a busy day tomorrow...a great day to have the ability to stream audio!

Too bad I will be out of town for it.

Before you came along Jim, many radio stations had stopped their streaming audio and posted messages like the following :

We apologize that we are no longer streaming our radio station over the Internet. Unfortunately, streaming over the Web has recently become much more expensive.

I have tried to read up about this and found 2 items :

1) If you play music, the recording industry screws you.

2) Something about commericials being a problem.

Well, talk radio doesn't really play music (intros and stuff could be changed to computer generated sound effects or something), so the recording industry should not be the problem.

Now about the commericials, I haven't found anything, but when I listen online, many times the streaming service would blankout the commericials. Why?

Jim if you know anything about streaming radio rules, I would be very interested. I think it would make my current website very cool if I could have archive or live NFL football related radio shows available.

Jim, Can you point me in the right direction?

Nice timing with Thursday being streaming day. This is great, especially for the out of staters and those who sit by thier radios and transcribe the interviews that are not streamed!

Thanks Jim O...

....this is a huge bonus for us out of town fans.

Still hurts bad to not get Colvin, but I can't help but be very excited about these signings.

Dexter Jackson seems very intent on developing his own name away from the TB defense - let's hope he can be just as good w/o the same Bucs pass rush.

Jeff Blake is a nice fit to throw those deep high lofted bombs to Boston....er, McAddley, Kasper, Gilmore, & Sanders/Jenkins (??).

Hodgins seems like a tough SOB in the true McGinniss mold. Missablocka was a little more mobile - but Hodgins seems liek a much more consistent blocker.

Darling was getting a lot of key playing time down the stretch for the Jets this past year.

GO CARDS!!!

Hey Steve, what I've read about it is everybody wants to get paid extra if their work gets put on the internet. So if a radio station broadcasts music over the net, the recording industry wants extra royalties.

The same applies with the voice actors, etc., from commercials. I always thought it was stupid that they didn't run commercials since it was extra advertising for the clients, but now I see how that became the problem. People making the commercials want more for their work and/or the radio stations want to charge the advertisers more for reaching a broader audience.

The next big idea seems to be offering audio and video over the web by paid subscription only. The bottom line, as always: Regular folks like us get the shaft.

Quick question...

....maybe this is a dumb question, but is this streaming audio going to be available every day? It's nice to get some local flavor way out here on teh East Coast. Thanks, Dylan
