I believe we should keep Robin for for now,
unless his medical issues will prevent him from performing at a higher level
If we do trade him we are getting rid of him at his lowest possible value
(At least I don't think he can get much worse)
By the time the next season starts the medical staff will have had an extended time to work with him
Then, get him to a sports psychologist
The year before last, after he got mad and had the door smashing incident,
he played great
Hopefully a sports psychologist can get him to release that anger on the court again
And if that doesn't work out and he doesn't improve
Ship him out

At least, like a car, clean him up a little, take some good pictures, use a little airfreshener, shine up the tires. Trading Robin at this moment is like trying to sell your ride with bald tires, dirt everywhere, and athletic socks and old french fries on the floor of the back seat.

Maybe someone can use him for parts. :D

We might not have a choice. If the Suns move him he is no big loss. At the very least if they keep him he is another big body.

Robin played well in the 09-10 season. I wouldn't mind if the Suns give him another look as a back-up center unless a reasonable trade proposal is made. He is still only 22.

I think you'd need a very loose definition of the word "great" for that comment to stand up. Robin was completely useless until we moved him into the starting lineup. Then, he immediately began to improve and he even showed signs of being an adequate big man if he could solve a couple of problems. The team played very well during this stretch and some of this improvement was due to Robin but other than perhaps 2 games, he never came anywhere close to great.

It's a fair point that moving him now is a bad idea but I think most of us have felt that way for awhile. The only reason some of us jumped on the bandwagon was for the slight possibility that someone might actually be willing to give us a 1st round pick for him. Obviously, that never came to fruition. Keep him, work with him but for the team's sake - don't keep playing him until/unless he shows at least a little value. The Robin that took the court last year might have been the only player in the league that performed south of the Hakim Warrick line.

Our situation as fans i difficult. We don't know if he is still recovering from back problem, if he has conditioning issues, or if he was not matched up with the right teammates.

What we miss is that he was a decent shooter last season. He averaged 50.1% last season when he was mostly taking short jumpers. He shot better the year before, 58.8% because he went to the basket more.

His rebounding in 1009-10 was over 025 per minute that fell to under 0.22 per minut minute. I suspect some of his uccess in 2009-10 came from playing beside Amare IMHO, he could do better if he plays along side Gortat

Well, reportedly the Suns did have a deal in place for a first round pick, albeit a late one, but they backed off when Shumpert was taken. So from that we could infer that Lopez could fetch a first round pick, but if its a future pick it would most likely be lottery protected.

There is obviously no reason to trade him just to unload him, since he is still on a rookie contract and having another big around can't hurt. But his minutes are likely to go down next season so I can't imagine his value going up. Additionally, next summer he will be an RFA (unless the new CBA changes things) so trading him now will probably be easier than later.

Robin Lopez even when healthy was one of the worst rebounder centers in the NBA. Look at the # of times he rebounded in double figures. If you look at the Centers playing similar # of minutes (starting or backup) it even looks worse.

If your suggesting that the two play together, that is a disaster waiting to happen. In the Western Conference neither play can keep up with many of the PF in the league.

This sounds like trying to hide Nash all over again. Robin sucks on the boards and disappears defensively. Let's play one of them out of position to hide Lopez.

Really?? Doing stuff like this is the reason why the Suns are still one of the most successful franchises record wise in any sport without a title.
