I listen to Keim and he said something which gave away to me that they're not drafting Murray and I wonder how many of you caught that one :)

I didn’t catch, or hear, it. But I’d bet almost anything the Cards are not drafting Murray with the #1 pick. No team is.

Nfl teams don’t fall for ESPN, and other media hype.

Raiders

Cardinals trade No. 1 for No. 4, 24, 106

Kyler Murray, QB, Oklahoma
There's still plenty of time for Oakland to fall in love with a quarterback, whether it's Murray or Dwayne Haskins or Drew Lock. Derek Carr was far from the Raiders' biggest issue last year, but that doesn't mean we should rule out Jon Gruden and Mike Mayock deciding to go all-in on a QB with a higher ceiling.

It was a subtle slip which he made with almost no hesitation pertaining to the team's future which he would have never be so naturally apt to say in the way he also included Josh in the context if they were not keeping him

Acquiring talent is the door to unlock for super bowl. Picks ≠ Talent.

This year they are going to ride with Rosen. And likely next year too. If things are bad at end of 2020/2021 season, then Bidwill will clean the house from GM to head coach to water boys. Until then GetOverThRosen hate :)

Edit: I think above is what will happen. @GatorAZ is right, if KK thinks Murray is better than Rosen, Keim has to approve that call.

So if keim and kk perceive Rosen isnt the right guy they just can sink with him?

Keim didn’t just draft Rosen he gave up 3 picks for him so how in the world could Steve feel Rosen’s not the guy after one year with terrible coaches that he hired?

It is an easy answer right? if KK and Keim think Rosen is not the guy they will draft Murray.

All I am saying is Cardinals are likely to go with Rosen than Murray where things stand today.

I agree but the story ain’t going away to soon. Still the key would be to be able to deal Rosen. Here’s a crazy one...Rosen to Steelers for Brown. Bottom line I just don’t see the Cards eating 8m in cap space to trade Rosen. Remember this. KK took the job based on the belief he could develop and get the most out of Rosen way before Murray declared for the draft.

Trade down. Trade OverthRosen. Stockpile picks. Build the team. Draft Murray and watch him become a star, or worst case scenario draft another QB in a few years. The key is stockpiling picks. That is how you build a Super Bowl team. This team needs as many picks as possible and if we are all honest with ourselves, OverThrosen is replaceable. If a team offers a decent trade for him I hope the Cards take it, Murray or not.

Oh, if they did this and drafted Murray with the 1st pick and he busts out....it will be FAR worse than that.

Of course if we are being honest with ourselves. :D

Agreed.

If lots of draft picks and cap space one Super Bowls the Browns would be looking for one for the thumb by now.

So you’ve already made the decision that drafting Rosen was a mistake? Really? After one season playing behind one of the worst offensive lines on a team coached by Steve Wilks and Mike McCoy.
How good do you think Baker, Lamar, Darnold or Allen would have looked on this team? How good would Jarred Goff have looked?
You can probably count the QB’s on two hands that would’ve made a significant difference on this team last season and I’m certain that none of them were rookies.
I thought the Cardinals took a flyer on KK because he has a track record of developing quarterbacks and building productive offenses around them.
If Kliff can’t win unless he’s got his guy I think the Cardinals got the wrong guy again and if that’s the case we’ve got bigger problems than josh Rosen.

I’m not even going to talk about the draft capital lost, passing on ELITE defensive talent or cap hit.

I’m not down on Bosa. I’m down on the Cardinals if they draft him to play OLB.

I think he’s the second best prospect in the draft, after Haskins, if they draft Bosa, play him at DE and I’d be fine with it.

I still do not understand this thinking with the numerous players who have proved you can play OLBer after playing DE in college.

I will say it every time, worrying about Bosa's coverage ability is like worrying about Patrick Peterson's tackling ability.

What if the mistake is picking the wrong QB's in the first round ? Then you would be doing what you worry about anyhow?

What if the mistake is hiring a head coach with no NFL heading coaching experience ? The team is making that mistake again.

What if the mistake is not learning from past Cardinals teams, and not investing in your pass rush when it is presented to you on a silver platter and trade down because "you need the picks"?

It matters on what you want to persist in doing, and if you do not think it is going to cost a lot for the three things I list, well then it is all relative to what "costs a lot is".

If traded today Rosen would fetch a second round pick at best. The Cards are better to stay the course.

But if we wanted to draft a DE for the 3-4, wouldn't Q Williams be a better fit for the position physically?

Bosa's what: 260 lbs? In a 3-4, wouldn't a 280 pounder like QW perform better at DE?

Thoughts?

Riddick was probably the one talking head at ESPN I didn’t think would go there with Murray/Rosen.
Personally, I think he's overrated...almost the NFL equivalent of SAS...just a little less snobby.

Hi Harry -

This suggests 2 possible courses of action:

1. Don't trade Rosen because you can only get a 2nd-rounder or worst for him.

2. 2nd round isn't good enough - declare victory, ditch Rosen and start all over again with Murray.

So-o-o.....?
