Here is a quote from Arizona Sports:

"Keim admitted he feels lucky so far in the draft. A clear top-five player on the Cardinals’ board in Isaiah Simmons fell to Arizona at No. 8 before a top-30 player in Jones landed at 72nd overall.

I’ll defer to my partner in crime, who has been teaching me about manifestation,” Keim said.

Said Kingsbury: “Yeah, it’s good karma I think.”

But at least he made the picks and did not overthink it.

I like everything about the way things have gone so far this year. Tomorrow is another day.

The draft is mostly luck...but like you said he's gotten out of his own way. Stop trying to outthink everyone, don't get cute....put yourself in a position to go BPA...set your board and then let the draft come to you.

I'm very confident we can get 2 impact players in the 4th.

Annnddddddd I expect a project from a small school to be taken in the 4th round now.

Hope I'm wrong.

Jones is really lucky. Biggest drop that we were able to take advantage of ever, imo. I saw some 'expert' mocks having him go as early as 20th in first round. Really hope he turns out to be a R1 talent.

You make your own luck. He could have screwed this up a lot of different ways, and didn't.
Could've given away a lot more picks to do the DJ/DH trade.
Could've gotten nervous and traded up to take the players that fell to him anyway.
Could've picked the wrong guys.

Keim is playing it very cool this year and it's working well. I can see two more studs in the 4th tomorrow morning as well.

Between Hopkins, unloading DJ in the process, not paying Drake past 1 year and not overthinking Simmons he’s absolutely crushed it.

I just watched the Cards official social media video documenting the Simmons pick. They had to bleep out several curse words of Keim excitement before showing Michael Bidwill in his office and coach KK in his Paradise Valley home (Maybe the media will someday learn that all PV homes look like that). I almost feel bad about all of the terrible things I said about him. GREAT OFFSEASON. Hope we see kickoff in September

Maybe just maybe he's well connected with teams that actually communicated with him on which players they covet? May be way off or wrong? Just a thought.

SK: "Why didn't I think of that."
