Robert Nkimdiche, Rodney Gunter, Josh Mauro, Ed Stinson, Xiaver Williams, Olson Pierre.

There has to be a reason the Cardinals have been stock piling and storing defensive linemen on the roster.
Stinson is horrible & should be cut during the offseason.

interesting

early in the spot Keim pretty much says, without naming names, that he regrets letting Rashaud Johnson and / or Powers go in favor of getting faster and more athletic
I don't think keeping Rashad or Powers would have changed much. We definitely needed better CB play opposite PP21 but I don't feel Powers was the answer. Maybe Rashad's intangibles would have made our secondary smarter and more cohesive, but it's hard to know this without actually being on the field, meeting room or locker room.

Don't be shocked if he goes to Seattle! Which will be crushing.

I don't think they could afford him and is he is 43 DT? He's not a 43 DE at this stage in his career. I think the 34 teams will be very interested.

Calais is the reason we've been rock solid against the run for the past 5-6 years. He plays all 3 defensive line positions in the 3-4 and is a great under tackle when we put 4 down linemen on the field. He frees up others by causing disruption or taking on the double-team. Guys like him don't get gaudy sack and tackle numbers, but guys like him help keep opposing rushers down and keep teams out of the endzone.

If we lose Calais, Golden & Jones will be double-teamed and our ILBs will be further exposed. He's the entire catalyst to our defense, and if we lose him, it's bad.

The biggest takeaway I got was him saying that he's talked to CC's agent and "it takes two." The innuendo of that remark is that the sides are far apart---and thus expect CC to hit the market.

That wasn't directed specifically to CC's case, but rather, free agency in general.

Everyone knows that CC's chances of staying are 50/50. I trust Keim to make the right moves.

I think we need to all prepare ourselves:

Calais Campbell isn't coming back.

Players and teams that have had conversations and think that a deal eventually will get worked out say stuff like "we think we can get a deal done"

Instead -- nothing. Calais was downright sentimental after the game yesterday when asked if that was his final home game. He knows that his likely market value and the Cards budgeted slot are really different.

I'll be happy if I'm wrong.

Yeah I noticed that too. I was trying remember who they were talking about the last time we heard him say that.

Campbell is to the DL, what Peterson is to the secondary... they keep the fort down to allow improvisation :)

CC is going full Dansby he is gonna chase the money. Listening to him in the radio he was leaving standard line it's a business and my time here has been great. They mentioned hope to have him back and he was kinda like it is what it is. Would like to have him back but not at what salary he's gonna want. Campbell can be a force but over his career he has disappeared as much as he has showed up not exactly a dominating force. Dockett in his prime was much more noticeable force imho.

You are really going to compare CC to Dansby? I just don't see it. And Dockett was more noticeable, but that was his biggest problem. He sold out to make splash plays and didn't play team defense. The impact on our team if we lose CC will be felt much more than it was after losing Dockett. I don't think the majority of fans appreciate what he does play in and play out. He brings so much more than just sacks.

The way he was talking on the radio is nearly identical to Dansby, he's going after a contract no home town discount. Sorry at his age I'd rather have Jones and try to address the real problem on D which is a CB opposite Peterson and a good ILB. I appreciate CC and would like to have him back but he's gonna price himself right out of town.

I don't think we can afford to keep CC as he will get a huge contract on the open market. With him being 30 years old I'd say save that money for the younger players entering their prime like Chandler Jones and Tony Jefferson.

Do the sheer number of Cardinal players whose contracts are up for negotiations this year encourage individual players to take a tougher stance on their own negotiations due to supply & demand factors?

Which players have given Arz a home town discount? Not Larry, PP or TM. Dansby cared only about top dollar. The potential of winning played no role in his decision. I don't see that as the case with CC. Even if the money doesn't work with the Cards, there is zero chance he will sign with a team like the Browns no matter how much they offer. I do think he would gladly come back if they offer him what he is worth.

Gresham and CJ2K gave Cards a discount to re-sign...they really thought they were going to have a shot at a SB this year.

The big issue with losing Calais on the defensive line is that it will create a hole similar to the ones we have at ILB and CB. I am also not sold on Chandler Jones being the guy who lives up to the big money deal he signs. Rumors are that he doesn't put in the work to be anything more than a good player.

If he goes, the only real signable options are Kawann Short or Dontari Poe. Normally I don't love paying NTs, but Poe plays on 75% of defensive snaps. That is very impressive for a big man.
