"Bobby actually showed some real strides as we got to the middle of OTAs and our final minicamp. He did a nice job. He's got all the physical tools."
Link.

Sounds like Massie is finally starting to catch on mentally.

that's fantastic to hear. Hard to put too much faith in him based on practices w/o pads for a RT. But I always believed he COULD be a very good RT if he could get his head in it. Hopefully he did, and he becomes one. That would only leave RG as a ? with the other 4 filled with good or better players. Compared to last year, where I feel our OL was the complete opposite, having only 1 good player. Would be a huge improvement to our offensive unit as a whole

Actually in most cases I would agree but the physical issues were not the problem it was the mental errors. Picking up the right assignments and reacting properly to line calls can be simulated in OTAs.

I understand your point of view and I agree to a point. It IS the mental side of things, which is worked on and shown w/o pads. But it's a hell of a lot easier to shoot when nobody's shooting back. Let our DEs and OLBs punch him in the mouth a few times and if he's still getting it right, ooohhh boy will I be happy. Him playing the way we all know he is capable of playing at RT this season, after all our other hugely positive line changes over last season, would be a Godsend. Then just have Watford 70% developed to where he is capable of being, and we have a solid line at every position, all of them being young except for Sendlein, and who knows how long he can play. His entire NFL career is based on proving the world wrong. I'm so excited for this line. For the first time ever. Keim and Arians have pulled some incredible things already in just slightly over a year. And Keim has always said he wont be happy with our books until '15. Which makes me believe that next year we will see even more stuff to be excited about than in these past 2 off-seasons

To an extent, but football is a contact sport and I will see when Massie has to multitask and hit someone while still mentally playing on cue... but I always thought Massie had and still has more than enough athletic ability to be a solid RT for years :)
