I think Michael is holding onto someone who he inherently trusts to navigate the first decade of him being at ownership. MB has done that. The question is what next?

No clue why he is still around
Keim can field a 9-8 team most years with above average coaching. That in Bidwill's books for a hundred years is NOT a problem and the main reason why they never won and never will win a Superbowl..The secret family recipe for ruining a NFL franchise.

And plenty of fans have accepted this.

I'm left stupefied. Bidwill is not a winning owner.
in my years of business dealings with closely held / family businesses -- a very common dynamic:

trusted/familiar but marginally competent is preferred to a highly competent outsider

the owner of that closely held business doesnt see it that way and can rationalize it away ("I'm concerned they don't share our values...." stuff like that) but it is really true

Yes that was epically bad. Never should have kept his job after the end of that season. Clearly he was drunk when he made most if not all those decisions because those are even bad for him.

The question of why Keim is still here in that position is only surpassed in curiosity by the question of why would anyone remain a fan of the Cardinals. Psychologists would have a field day researching that question. Were we all constantly beaten down and humiliated as children? Is our self esteem nonexistent or are we simply like a wife who stays with a husband who regularly beats her senseless? Whatever it is, we all need years of therapy if we ever want to be free of this self-inflicted curse.

Never discount the strong human desire to cleave towards the status quo. At this point Keim is the devil you know. You know?

This is a great analogy.

If it comes to it - What is likely to happen - Keim becoming a non football decision making execute inside the Cardinals or fired from Cardinals?
